Allright guys, I knocked up a brand new rp world today, hopefully it will provide various fun rp's so here me giving it a shot, a bit laborous to read im afraid since I need to describe the universe but here we go anyway!
There are three main realms in this roleplay universe, they are...
*The Mortal Realm*
This is basically the human realm, the time period of Earth in this role is essentially a bit more advanced than present day.
*The Seiken Realm*
This is the realm of the Shinigami, in termsof appearance it is good to imagine a feudal era Japan style setting. Every day the Shinigami here train hard when they are not on patrol, more on that soon...
*The Oni Realm*
This is the home of the Demons, an underworld of dark thunderclouds and rivers of molten rock sort of thing. The environment is harsh and some of the more powerful demon families have their strongholds situated all over the place.
Thre was once a secret realm where the Celestial resided, a being of trememndous power from one of the three main races who basically presided over the three main realms and made sure order and balance was maintained between the forces of light and dark. The last Celestial was the legendary Shinigami Genji, since him there hasa not been another, it is said the Fates, the 'will' of the realms, somehow select the next Celestial though since Genji there has not been one in aeons.
*The Basics*
When a mortal dies, their soul goes to Bordergate, a huge and desolate realm which is said to be unlimited in space. Here the souls will be guided by a Shinigami to rebirth, where they will be born again into another body. However, things turn out a little differently when a mortal has been either heroic or especially evil or malicious in their lives...For the first option, the spirit will become an 'Aura,' glowing white a Shinigami will come to take them to the Seiken Realm, where they will train and become a Shinigami. The second option has them become a 'Wraith,' a black and raggedly hooded looking thing with burning red eyes. They will been drawn to the darkness of the Oni Realm and will find a gate there, where they will turn into a demon. Shinigami spend much of their time patrolling Bordergate, guiding spirits and Auras and combating demons who are trying to reach the Mortal or Seiken realms through Bordergate and protecting the spirits (unless theyre a wraith!) from demons roaming Bordergate. Dead mortals have been known to escape Shinigami detection and escape back to the Mortal Realm or wait in the Bordergate, spirits whoi remain long enough in Bordergate change into dangerous and strange creatures...Tracking and hunting down fleeing spirits is the usual reason Shinigami travel to the Mortal Realm...
Non-human Races...
*Shinigami*
Shinigami are human in appearance though possess a strong presence, if one was in a room full of people your eyes would be drawn straight to the Shinigami, the stronger they are the more powerful their prescence. Shinigami are able to travel great distances instantly in the Seiken Realm and Bordergate; with enough training a Shinigami will acquire their spirit weapon. The weapon depends on the Shinigami and when one acquires their weapon, usually around eighty years, they are considered fully fledged Shinigami and allowed out of the Seiken Realm. Shinigami have also been known to travel to the Mortal Realm, though they do this only at great need. They can also devise various 'spirit techniques' which expend spirit power, a Shinigami must be careful to allow this to regenerate or they could destroy themselves...Shinigami grow more powerful with training and the stronger they are they can take more wounds, they cannot be 'mortally wounded' like a mortla though 'mortal strikes' would do more damage. A Shinigami can be killed with enough wounding, if in the Seiken Realm they can gradually recover. They will also destroy Wraiths in a bid to keep the population down of Demons, Shinigami cannot reproduce but occassionally ones are 'born' into the Realm, they do not know how this happens. They believe it is a balance redress from the Fates as heroic human souls are not as common as evil or neutral ones. In terms of personality, Shinigami can be as different as humans but many Shinigami have a strong sense of duty. Shinigami are also immortal and old age is not a hindrance for them in any way,m especially since they cant die from it. Shinigami also do not need to eat or drink but will do so often for pleasure. In terms of spirit techniques, Shinigami can use elemental ones also ythat are more powerful if they can draw on a source of that element. The SHinigami are ruled by a Grand Coucil of the nine strongest and wisest of the Shinigami, chosen by the Council Head.
*Demon*
Demons are a highly varied lot in appearance, each one unique in appearance though wings, tails and horns are common features. They have scaled flesh and sharp teeth and claws, like Shinigami demons can also gain strength though do it differently, they instead gain strength with age and especially by killing. Demons need to feed on blood to sustain themselves though only once a month, they are also not immortal but can live for thousands of years, the oldest demon was neatly ten thousand years old...As they grow stronger demons will develop various powers unique to them, but common powers are exceptional strength and speed, the ability to project illusion and confuse the senses, elemental powers and 'Shadow Dancing,' the ability to teleport over a short distance. Demons are different in personality but generally enjoy fighting and killing and are quite casual about offing someone, in fact in demon noble families it is expected that the siblings will try and off each other and thus the strongest will be the heir. Unlike Shinigmai, demons CAN reproduce and new demons best join a stronger demons force or fight and hide hard to stay alive long...The demons have no set ruler but there have been instances in the past where a powerful demon has forced under him/united many demons and led an attack which aimed at reaching the Seiken or Mortal Realm. Demons may head into the Borderrealm igf they have a desire to enter or attack eithr the Mortal or Seiken Realm, but it has been aeons since a demon managed to enter the Seiken Realm. Older, stronger demons are said to possess skin like steel...Demons can be killed with enough damage and unlike Shinigami can be mortally wounded by destruction or impalation of the heart.
*Vampire*
If a demon and a human have a child, a vampire is the result. Vampires are generally reviled by humans, vampires and demons alike. Demons consider them 'useless and weak halfbreeds,' Shinigami consider them 'corrupted' and humans consider them 'vile parasites' for the most part. Vampires look human but possess one or more distinguishing demon features like wings, horns..They always possess sharp claws and fangs and although not scaled, their skin is close and scaly in feel. They are pale skinned and do possess excellent speed and strength, stronger vampires can even match another demon but still...They contantly hunger for blood, even when recently fed they wil have a tingling lust for it and it gets worse as it goes on, they will often kill to supplement this gnawing hunger, they will need to feed atleast a few times a week. Some vampires indulge in this and some try to control themselves more...Vampires do not live as long as demons (vampires who live long are quite rare with their bloodlust and such) but the oldest vampire recorded was nearly two thousand years old. They gain strength with age but not kills, they can also develop Shadow Dancing and illusion and confusion powers, though the second is not as strong as a demon's. They can be destroyed the same way as demons but are easier to kill.
A couple of organisations in the Mortal Realm...
*The Chikhan*
A ninja clan that has existed for a long time, they were created to assist the Shinigami in a war against the Demons which took place in the Mortal Realm. They are somehwat lesser in number when they used to be but still they train their members hard and continue to assist the Shinigami. They will deal with demon and vampire activity in the Mortal Realm and also have a way of travelling to Bordergate, where they will assist the Shinigami. They possess blades which are forged to an ancient method, blades that are quite effective against demons and can harm spirits. They are weaker in Bordergate then in the Mortla Realm however...They do not recruit emmbers from outside, only the descendants of their own clan.
*The Crusade*
A religious order that selects members from different religions they think will be good for the job of working with them, the Crusade was originally formed when a vampire lord attacked a city, wiping out all the inhabitants. They despise Shinigami in general, believing that the Shinigami have little regard for mortals and largely leave them to fend for themselves against vampires and such. The Crusade is solely dedicated to the destruction of vampires and demons, they will send out their 'hunters' to hit 'marks' and will arm them with weaponry developed by their own science team. A common weapon is guns with enchanted ammunition. The Crusade often faces rivalry from bounty hunters, as the price on vampire heads is often high.

The RP
Kira always had a serious look on his face, today was no different as the tanned Shinigami knelt upon the floor with a fist to his heart and his gaze upon the gray haired and immense figure of the Council Head. The gaze was to convey honesty and the other proprieties were definitely necessary for this man, essentially the lord of all the Shinigami. Today there was especially cause for seriousness, as the mission Kira was being given was of the utmost importance.
"This is not just because she is my daughter..." Speaks the Council Head in a strong voice. "You know how the numbers of the Shinigami are endangered, and she is one of the most promising we have..."
"I understand Grand Master..." Says Kira simply, his black and shoulder length braids tinkering slightly thanks to small silver bells on the end. "I understand that many say the Demon Taizen has her. A vile creature, he has managed to remain hidden in the Mortal Realm for years now, but I will find him, I swear it..."
"I trust you Kira and your skill, why I select you and not one of the Council is because I know that like an arrow, your focus shall not dull until it reaches the target, now go..."
And go Kira did, he had already prepared beforehand and his journey now began...Despite the Grand Master's words, he knew with the deep affection he had for his daughter other Shinigami's would be sent out...

"Fucking hell..." Said a flame haired man sat on an upended barrel and hastily raised his hands. "I dont doubt your word Erik, you know I dont but fucking hell, if thats true we'll be dealing with Shinigami too, and im not sure if even Taizen's mark is worth that.
Erik simply grinned as he leaned against the rock, he and his partner Jed had stopped for the moment to recharge the engine of their carrier, they had a long trip ahead of them. Though these two human bounty hunters were brothers, they couldnt be more different in appearance. Jed was flame haired and green eyed, nearly pale as a fucking vampire. Tall and whip lean, the guy was fondling one of his knives, he liked using them but to tell the truth, Erik was also quite the fan of the weapon on his back...
In terms of appearance, Erik was a broad and muscular individual but quite short at around five and a half foot. He was tanned and an eyepatch covered his left eye and his long black hair had a wild look to it. As he put his lips together to consider the situation, he avoided biting his lower lip, there was a damn good reason for that related to the loss of that left eye, anyway, back to what was important...
"Oh you can count on that, the Crusade will be sending people for Taizen too. That bastard's been maked in the Black Book for hunters for some time...So hes currently residing at Black Castle is he...The mountains in Southeast Asia that place is in are pretty damn trecherous, but we are going to get there...We are going to beat every bugger else to it and take Taizen's mark, maybe even a reward from the Shinigami for freeing that captive he has...You know why? Cause we dont give up , on any challenge..."
"Hell I know that..." Says Jed and grins. "Well, lets get to work then..."

So basically from what we know, a powerful demon that has eluded the Shinigami in the past has the daughter of the Shinigami boss captive in a castle set among the peaks of trecherous mountains. Bounty hunters, Crusade members...Hell just about everybody will be after the mark, the Shinigami girl or both! You could be someone from pretty much any species, if youre going to be a demon or shinigami make sure to follow the guidelines set out for the speies when creating them, and don't have someone ridiculously powerful or wheres the fun...So, knock up a character and be sure to include an appearance in your next post. As heroes and villains progress, people may find that all is not what it seems with this situation...
