I wanted a poetry thread of my own, as the poetry corner is for people who don't want to create thread of their own.


Like I said, BK's gone soft...


You say you want to take me to our places
And make a future with me
Filled with many new faces
And so much to see

But our place is our arms
And our future in our eyes
Protect each other from harms
And reaching for the skies

We've broken limits
And created a love of our own
With you loving me
How can I ever feel alone?

Impossible means nothing now
For we can do anything
It's not a question of how
Because we'll do everything

Just hold me tightly to you
And let our love flow
I will cling to you too
And never let you go

We're still growing
Our love gets stronger each day
There's not enough words
For all I want to say

All times you've made me cry

Kind of darkish yet happy poem coming here....well, I guess it ain't too bad <3

If darkness was a feeling, I'd feel it right now
I want to open the door, yet don't know how
If hell was a place it'd be my soul and head
As I stirr in my soft...my soft and horrible bed

If I was a butterfly, I'd sit on your window right now
You would open the door and you'd show me how
if hell was a place, Heaven would be in your arms
With your eyes so kind and your precious smile that warms

Am I selfish and ask for too much? To be with you...just you...

The first is cute, but there are a few verb agreement issues which can easily be the death of a poem (especially one with an obvious flow and rhyme scheme). The theme is simple but expanded clearly thoughout the poem, which is a good thing, obviously.

The second is a little murky, the rhythm seems to be off and soem of the rhymes feel forced. I'm guessing more time was spent on the first poem than the second by these facts alone. I'm sure it would be at par with the first has the same amount of time/effort been put into it.

I'd like to see some originality, girl! Try a new concept or a strong metaphor. Better yet, some symbolism! Anyone can throw words together, it's the message that requires skill.

I Could Try


I can try to explain and tell you all how I feel,
About a love and longing that barely seem real.
Wishing to be in his arms, like he's in my heart.
It tore at my soul when I was going to depart.

I could try to tell you,
How much I miss his eyes.
How his arms would hold me,
how I felt his chest rise,
with every breath he took,
in which I loved him more.
And when he kissed my lips,
I felt it to my very core.

I can try to explain and tell you what I miss,
tell you all about one hug, all about one kiss.
Paint a picture of him and me, both with teary eyes,
Knowing that today one of us will cross the skies.

I could try to tell you,
how I would rest my head.
Gently on his shoulder,
while we were lying on his in bed.
And he'd softly stroke my hair,
while I hear his heart beat.
He'd kiss the top of my head
and whisper words so sweet.

I can try to explain and tell you what I need,
Say all that he gives to this silly lil swede.
I don't want another memory of another day,
where I have to turn around, HAVE to walk away.

I could try to tell you,
How I wanted to run back,
to burry my face in his chest.
To my honey and love, my Jack.
The pain running through me,
as I took another step away,
It was completely unbearable,
When I all wanna do is stay.
The tears they were flowing,
I'm amazed I didn't break down.
But I had to keep going,
yet I'm regretting it now.

How I'm counting the days.
Til I'll see him smile,
and his loving, sweet face.
I'll cuddle him tightly,
And slowly meet his gaze,

And just become a haze.

You know my responses to some poems (because I told you over MSN). I write (at lease, used to) poems myself, and I always love mixing up lines and using different words. I prefer sonnets the most, even though only 12 lines, knowing how to write it well can tell a complete story in short sentences.

Broken Princess

Do you see beauty in the broken?
Can you make something old new?
Can you make trash into a token?
Could it have a worth to you?

I'm a broken princess,
I lost my cape and crown.
I sit amongst the dirt,
wearing rags, mud and a frown.

Can I be unique to you?
Can I be pricless again?
Could you make me pretty too?
And gentle like the rain?

Could I be a broken princess,
that need no cape or crown?
Can you wipe off the dirt?

Nothing Special

I'm not very special,
nor clever, beautiful or smart.
But I'd still like...
Like to give you my heart.

It may not be much,
worn, torn and used.

Each day that passes is a day closer to you.

How can I write about an empty feeling?
When the cups so full it's over flown.

I have to say, your poems are truly beautiful and it seems you will only continue to improve further with time. Of course, beauty sometimes flows when you have the right inspiration. ^_^

Also, White Knight don't often make poetry, but he's made two poems for me that I absolutely love, so I decided to post them here. ^..^


Following 2 poems are made by White Knight.

With every light comes a shadow,
a black I can't forget,
in every life comes a time,
for sadness and regret.

To know whats gunna come,
before you ever tried to see,
is a sign you know to much,
and a road to misery.

You wonder what I mean,
when I write each lucid line,
the only trouble is,
to say would be a crime.

A happiness for you,
a tragedy for me,
however did it come to this,
I need to let this be,

I'm not sure if you know,
though its possible you do,
how my mind is swarming,
for feelings I have for you.

From every word you say,
to every time you have to go,
is a time I fall to sleep with,
a time I'll never know.

Like a rose without a thorn,
a rarity to see,
my mind is fading slowly,
with thoughts of you and me.


If I ever knew what to say,
if the time ever came,
