I. Basic Profile
A. Name:) Arnaud J. Thenardier (ar-NODE) (teh-NAHR-dee-yay

B. Nicknames: None

C. Species: Vulpes corsac

D. Gender: Male

E. Age: 92 ((Discussed later))

F. General size: Arnaud is very small when compared to other members of the same species;
indeed, there is a general frailness to his body which could, if he did not disguise it with flashy, pretentious clothing, make him appear weak.

G. Physical appearance/attire:
~1. Summary: Arnaud, although a very diminutive figure, is none the less a very intimidating figure. Has nothing to do with his sleek white fur, or piercing red eyes, but has everything to do with the formal, almost aristocratic clothing he wears. His entire countenance speaks of wealth, and power. His black suit is always well-cleaned, his dress, leather shoes well-shined, and his long, swirling cape well-kempt.
~~a. Clothing: Arnaud wears a black suit, under which he dons a red, silk shirt. This crimson piece of finery shows at the neck, where it is pinned to his invisible undershirt by a gold, diamond pendant.
~~b. Footwear: Arnaud’s shoes are well-shined black, or brown leather dress-shoes.
~~c. Head-Gear: none.
~~d. Accessories: In order to add to Arnaud’s haughty air of societal superiority, Arnaud also dons a black, red-silk lined cape and a pair of grey, silk gloves.

H. IQ: As intelligent as I can make him.

I. Known Relatives:
~1. Gavroche H. Thenardier, his hedgehog father.
~2. Belle E. Madeleine Thenardier, his fox mother.
~3. Javert A. Thenardier, his hedgehog brother.

J. Birth-date: April 14, 1902

K. Birth-place: Paris, France

L. History: Born to Gavroche, a male hedgehog, and Belle Thenardier, a female fox, in Paris 1904, Arnaud was introduced to calamity at a young age. His parents, European city dwellers that they were, were poor, and could barely scrape a living. When yet another mouth to feed ame along, his brother, Javert A. Thenardier, who was born in 1908, making ends meet became a virtual impossibility. Thus, Arnaud began to assosciate pain and hedgehogs which, over time, would lead to a life-long hate of the species.

Pressed into the lowest rungs of depravity, Arnaud's family was forced into a last resort maneuver. Dumping their last funds into a trip across the sea, the family escaped to what seemed the last hope for them: That "Golden Gateway Across the Sea," America. On April 9, 1909, Arnaud and his family were screened through Ellis Island and made United States citizens.

At first, things seemed to go well; Gavroche got a low-paying industrial job, and Belle became a seamstress at the Triangle Factory. Arnaud, a mere 6 year old pup at the time, was given the job of caring for his baby of a brother, and although they lived a meager existence, they were happier than in France.

Then, in 1911, disaster struck. An accident occured at Belle's textile factory, and fire caught. As she worked on the fourth floor, two floors above the site of the disaster, Arnaud's mother was not aware of the danger until it was too late. The stairs to the bottom floor collapsed, and the middle-aged female was left without a viable exit from the building. The conflagration began to spread towards her, until she was forced to make a desperate jump out a near-by window. Thus it was that a young Arnaud was forced to watch his mother, along with nearly eighty others, fall, screaming, to their deaths.

Here, Arnaud's life took a definate turn for the worse; it was literally impossible for the family to feed itself without the mother's income. Arnaud was forced to take up a factory job, while Javert was left in the care of an elderly mouse they lived with. She agreed to watch over the child if they fed her, and so yet another mouth was introduced to the starving family.
Slowly, day by day, everyone grew a little skinnier, a little hungrier, and a little more desperate. Not helping the situation was the fact that Gavroche, the head of it all, was growing increasingly more depressed. A precipitate of this sorrow was his sudden inebriism, which came on suddenly, with as much vigor as a hedgehog can produce. He was driving the family harder, and harder into the ground with his alcoholism, and Arnaud knew it. His aching stomach and empty pockets told him so.

Finally, it got to the point that the young albino could take it no longer. He simply had to have more food than what he was recieving. So, on August 14, 1914, Arnaud made a jump from decency to the animalistic realm of the murderer. On this fateful day, Arnaud decided to save his own life, and never think of how it hurt the others around him, the attitude that would shape the rest of the foxes life.

Arnaud took his five year old brother from the grandmotherly mouse, and slit his throat with a claw. He then ate the rodent, raw. His canine instincts kicked in, as he began to relish the taste of flesh, and blood. A new sensation overtook him: The feeling of being full, and contented. He had to have more, no matter what it cost. He would never go hungry again, if he had anything to say about it. When his father returned home, he pounced on him, devouring him like the rodent he was.

Unfortunately, this activity hardly went unnoticed by the primarily rodentine community he lived in. He was arrested (by no less than six police officers) and was placed in a temporary holding facility until a fair trial could be held against him for the murder of his father.
It was at this moment that Arnaud discovered his power. While he sat in the foul, cold, rat-ridden hole in the ground they kept him in, he found himself wishing more than anything in the world, that he could return to France, his homeland, the only place where he had truly known comfort and security. As soon as he found himself wishing this, it was granted; unbeknownst to him, he had just made his first teleportation.

At first Arnaud was amazed at this new-found power (see section IV, part A). He experimented with it, and eventually discovered just how powerful he was. Delighted at his abilities, Arnaud quickly made himself a monumental fortune based on crime. After all, it is not difficult to clear a house of its riches when one can instantly teleport into a house, and just as quickly teleport out with all its valuables.

Soon, however, Arnaud found himself wanting more than riches and comfort; he wanted power, for with power, he could not only feed himself, but make those who tried to hurt him suffer. He approached this with his newly-developed aristocratic attitude; an attitude of manipulation and corruption, which would thrust him into political star-dome.

In 1978, Arnaud ran for his first office. With the rising tide of anti-animal sentiment that was rising during this time perioud, however, it was nearly impossible for a "furry," however keen, to win any sort of popular election in the Human realm. So it was that the fox was drawn into Nur'Beaux, the one continent ruled entirely by these creatures.

In particular, Arnaud was drawn to a foxish republic known as The United Vulpine Dominions, or UVD. There, he could find his own kind, and practice his skill much more effectively, for in the UVD, there were two racial classes: The foxes, and the non-foxes. The former of these two groups were garunteed an easy, government-supported life, whereas the latter were trodden under heel as second rate citizens. This division appealed to Arnaud's already flourishing sense of ego.

He arrived in 1980, and made his home in the center of it all, Ambleaux, the capitol. The thriving metropolis enthralled the aspiring "young" (he appeared but twenty) albino, who saw around him a sea of mindless foxes, driven into stupidity by the easy life their government alloted them. These pitifully ignorant and manipulable creatures, who had been raised on nothing but wealth and happy ideas from birth, were the perfect people for his brand of corruption.

Immediately, he looked into the government of this place, where the power was maintained. It was a very simple system: There were two legislative houses, the House of Escardus and its 20 delegates who were popularly elected, and the House of Pompelia and its 32 appointees, who were appointed by the Escardi (members of the house of Escardus). The nation was then led by two consuls, one of which was elected popularly, and one of which was appointed by the two Houses. They acted as the supreme arbiters of the land, as they controlled both the police and military forces, and all major judicial decisions fell under their sole jurisdiction.
Arnaud immediately saw that if he could get himself into the position of consul, supreme dictatorial powers were kept from him by one, weak, clueless partner (i.e. the other consul). Before he could attempt such a thing, however, he had to garner adequate political support. So, in 1995, Arnaud was elected into his first political office as an Escardi. In an effort to popularize himself yet more, he married the popular politician, Adelaide P. Besancon (will be discussed in much mroe depth when I get to Adelaide's profile.)

As far as his primary "ideas" (he more or less regurgitated what he thought the populus wanted to hear) for running were: A. foxes should be even more priveledged than they now are, and B. All other species, hedgehogs in particular, should be driven out of the nation. As strange as it seems to us, this is precicely what the 92% vulpine nation wanted to hear, and he was thrust into power.

Now, in 2007, he remains an increasingly popular and dangerous politician, backed by an army of impassioned citizens, and well-paid allies. Some question his health, however, as he has a habit of suddenly disappearing without explanation. At such times, his wife takes the reins of the government into her capable hands, and follows Arnaud's doctrine of Vulpine Superiority rigidly.

M. Items of note: None atm.

* * * * *
II. Personality:

A. Goal[s]: Arnaud essentially has three goals: First and foremost to stay alive, second to be rich, and third to have as much power over others as possible. To achieve these goals, Arnaud will do anything, including murder, steal, bribe or blackmail.

B. Likes: Anything that represents, or can bring Arnaud power, or otherwise inflate his ego. This includes things like gold, expensive art, food, cars etc…, Loyal underlings, armies, WMDs, etc.

C. Dislikes:
~1. Intelligent, moral people: Too often, Arnaud’s ruses and schemes were foiled by bright individuals who could see through his tricks. As a result, he surrounds himself with stupid underlings who are kept happy, and quiet, by large sums of cash.
~2. Pain: Due to Arnaud’s cushioned life and frail body, he is extremely responsive to pain. While all people dislike pain, Arnaud’s loathing of the sensation is especially acute. He has been known to give loud cries to paper-cuts.
~3. Hedgehogs: As aforementioned in this profile, Arnaud’s childhood was ruined by his hedgehog-father, and brother. As a result, he has developed a particular hate for this species, although he has a definite bias against all who are not canines.
~4. Any Form of Religion: Arnaud is a pronounced secularist, who loathes any form of spirituality. There are exceptions however, such as cults that name him as God.

D. Fears: Arnaud is forever pursued by guilt for the many crimes he has commit. He knows that just retribution is bound to find him eventually…

E. Attitude Towards Life:
~1. Death:
~~~a. Self: Arnaud’s greatest fear is death, and he will do anything to preserve his life.
~~~b. Others: Although Arnaud claims to have “A heart for my people,” in factuality, Arnaud cares for one, and only one person, himself. He will defend those who facilitate him, and slaughter, with very little thought or regret, those who oppose him.
~1. Attitude toward people:
~~a. Family: Arnaud’s mother is possibly the only creature on Earth that Arnaud ever loved. However, she died long ago, and so is no longer relevant. All his other family members are viewed in the same way as everyone else: tools in his designs.
~~b. Friends: Arnaud has no friends, only loyal subjects, political allies, and military subordinates.
~~c. Colleagues/Rivals: Arnaud looks upon all who do not directly support or oppose him as rivals. He will either win their loyalty, or ultimately destroy them.
~~d. Enemies: Arnaud’s philosophy with enemies is this: “If you can kill them without repercussions, do so. If you cannot, play their game until you beat them.” In short, he will do whatever it takes to destroy those who oppose him. This does not mean, however, he is always hostile towards these people. Arnaud can act, and be his worst enemy’s best friend if it helps him for some reason. Indeed, one of Arnaud’s greatest skills is his ability to make friends out of his enemies with lies, money, and threats. However, it must be remembered that in the end, all of Arnaud’s actions are for one purpose: The benefit of himself and the humiliation of those who would oppose him.
~~e. Strangers: Arnaud views the populace as a weapon. If an entire country is behind him, who would dare oppose his right to rule there? That does not mean that Arnaud lives for the people, however. If there are any who resist him, he would not hesitate to crush them with brute force. Also, once he’s in power, he sees those who put him there as potential wealth, and potential threats. As a result, once he has totalitarian power over the people, he will tax them for every cent they’re worth, and crush the will to resist out of them. Remember, Arnaud is a Stalinist, not a Trotskyite.
~2. [Attitude toward] Money/Power: They are his reason for
existence.
~3. Work: Arnaud will not turn away from hard-labor if he needs to for some reason or other. Far from lazy, he recognizes that a good work-ethic is one of the keys to success. However, if a job can be done by an underling, he will not exert more effort than is needed.
~4. Danger: Arnaud is a coward, and it is this fear of danger that is his greatest weakness. Whenever the albino is confronted with danger, he goes through an internal conflict of self-preservation, and self-propulsion. If the relative danger is higher than the potential for gain, he flees. If the potential for gain is great enough, however, he will brave any danger.
~5. Fighting: Arnaud does not flinch at killing. However, the same rules apply here as above. He will not put himself in undue risk.
~6. Anger/Forgiveness: Arnaud was angry at his enemies before he met them. For loyal servants, however, he will forgive foul-ups after they are punished. He sees the unnecessary killing of servants as a waste of resources.

F. Mental Condition[s]: Arnaud is a complete megalomaniac, who will risk anything for power. Whether this is brought about by a chemical imbalance in his brain or not is unknown. Other than this, Arnaud is in good mental health.

G. Quotes:
~1.“I really don’t have time for this my friend. Please leave a note with my secretary and be on your way.”
~2. “I will lead you to a new, greater, brighter and better future!”
~3. “The people run this country… They just happen to be MY people.”
~4. “Please… have mercy on this old fox!”
~5. “Compassion is for the feeble minded, and love for the Bourgeois .”

III. Current Status

A. Current Residence: Arnaud is a congressman in the United Vulpine Republic (UVD), a rich and powerful nation in which foxes reign as the superior race. As such, he lives in the sprawling capitol of this nation, Tier’Dahl. The UVD: Home of the Foxes, the UVD is a collection of sprawling metropolae. It is rich and powerful, currently commanding the most advanced military on the planet, humans aside. Filled with tall sky-scrapers, flourishing shops, and arrogant aristocrats, this is essentially the vulpine (foxish) western world.
Theirs is a mountainous territory, where the wind bites, and the snow falls every day.
The capitol of the UVD is the biggest, and the coldest metropolis of them all: Tier'Dahl.
His house is an almost castle-like mansion on a lonely hill overlooking this thriving metropolis.

B. Occupation: Arnaud is what is known as a Heletican, meaning that he belongs to the House of Heletica in the UVD. Their government works as follows: There are two consuls, the popular consul and the Helitican consul. These are the two leaders of the nation, who have judicial supremacy, supreme martial authority, and veto powers.
Below them is the bicameral legislative mass. The first party is known as the House of Escardus, and its 50 members are elected popularly. These members may write and pass legislation (if a bill gets 51% of the vote in one house it is brought before the Consuls). They are also responsible for appointing the 10 members of the second House, The House of Heletica.
This second house also writes legislation, and are responsible for appointing the Heletican Consul. If a decision cannot be agreed upon by both consuls (one vetos a law or movement, one passes it), it is thrown to this house.
(a diagram of the UVD electoral process: http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9830/judicialsystemfortheuvdhz9.png.)

C. Social Class: Arnaud has a very large ego, ALOT of money, a high position in government, and just a lot of power in general. As such, he does everything he can to bloat his own image in people’s eyes. He is, in every sense of the term, a damned aristocrat.

D. Economic Class: Having already accumulated an almost inexhaustible fortune in his youth, Arnaud is also paid a hefty salary for his federal work. As such, he has become unimaginably wealthy, and he likes to flaunt it. He is what is known as a first class beaurocrat.

E. Alignment: Arnaud is of his own alignment. He serves himself, and will do whatever most facilitates him. He is a conniving, flattering, manipulative, backstabbing rat, who would kiss Satan’s toe or rape his father in order to further himself. On the other hand, if he believes single handedly saving the universe and its inhabitants is the most self-serving thing he can do, he’ll do it. I suppose I’ll call him a toss-up.

IV. Skills and Ineptitudes

A. Powers: Miles has been granted a bizarre power, which allows him to manipulate matter purely from internal whim. While this power is not unlimited, it allows him to create large amounts of various elements from nothing, levitate, teleport etc. It is believed that this skill is granted to him by a genetic anomaly, which simultaneously makes him impervious to any level of radiation. This strange abnormality in his code has also created a marked slowing in his aging process; although he is nearly 100 years old, he looks and acts as though he were 32.

B. Basic Fighting Style Arnaud prefers to avoid fighting, and instead tries to manipulate his enemies into his will using words, cash, influence, and an assortment of cronies. However, when forced to fight, he relies totally upon his ability with matter, with which he is able to create a number of potent attacks. He levitates into the air, and keeps a distance between him and his target. Then, he launches his many (all long-ranged) potent attacks into his unfortunate foe.

C. Special abilities:
~1. Flame burst: Arnaud forces large amounts of oxygen to gather around an enemy, and then introduces a highly reactive element, such as sodium, or magnesium into the mix, resulting in a small explosion.
~2. Particle beam/blast/ball: Arnaud charges a large number of particles full of energy, making them highly unstable. He then launched them in a beam or blast, which produces a large amount of heat and force when it hits another object. The mass of particles, which take on whatever shape Arnaud deems most effective in a given situation, glow with a strong, almost white, blue light.
~3. Atmospheric explosion: Arnaud super-charges the nitrogen atoms around his opponent with energy, until they “explode” (decay into a lower element) blasting him or her with heat and radiation.
~4Acidic Conversion: Arnaud raises the Ph level in a liquid drastically, creating a highly corrosive acid. He can then do what he pleases with the liquid (i.e. melt a door, splash his opponent etc.)
~5. Snare: Arnaud forces the matter around his opponent (assuming it is on the ground) to rise up and surround him, effectively encasing him in rock, earth, or metal. He then tears electrons away from the creature and the surrounding elements until they bind together, effectively holding the creature in place.
~6. Earthen Shield: Arnaud forces the ground around him to rise up in a pillar, blocking a projectile attack.
~7. Teleporation: Arnaud tears his particles apart, and reforms them at the desired location within seconds.
~8. Levitation: Arnaud can make his particles, or the particles of any object he chooses, of a precise density, making them rise quickly to a desired height and location. He has reached a skill level with this technique that he is able to produce artificial flight.
~9. Iron Storm: The fox draws large amounts of iron from the ground, and shapes it into a flurry of sharp-ended rods. He then, using his levitation capabilities, launches these at his opponent, skewering them.
~10. General Melting: Arnaud can force certain objects to change form instantly. For instance, he could melt an ice attack used against him, or vaporize any sort of water-based attack. Although it takes a great deal of energy and concentration, this power extends to certain metals, such as iron.

D. Ultimate attacks: The use of any one of these drains the fox of all energy, leaving him unconscious after completion.
~1. Electric barrage: Arnaud tears the electrons from elements near his opponent, producing a very strong positive pull on that side of the target. He then forces them to attach to similar elements on the opposing side, creating an equally negative pull. He then increases the atmospheric pressure, until the strain to reach equanimity tear the electrons off the negative end. This creates a lightning bolt, which flies through the target to get to the positive area. However, it generally takes time for equanimity to be reached, often resulting in multiple charges.
~2. Photonic blast: Arnaud gathers the quanta from the light around him, until it makes a fairly sizable ball of light-substance. Once it reaches the desired size, Miles will convert the matter into photonic energy, and blast the opponent with what is essentially pure light.
~3. Antimatter: In his strongest attack, Miles reverses the poles in a miniscule amount of matter (i.e. 3 or 4 atoms), creating antimatter. This instantly explodes, producing the equivalent of a contained nuclear explosion in a sphere about 10 feet in diameter.
~4. Arcanum Shield: His body is encased in rock, which he subsequently converts to Arcanum, which shields him from any kinetic or energy-based harm. The Arcanum melts when he reawakens two hours later.

E. Talents:
~1. Speech: As is to be expected of a politician, Arnaud is well-spoken in general, and fiery in his formal speeches. He has inspired many a follower with nothing more than the sharpness of his tongue and the speed of his mind.
~Manipulation: Arnaud is very talented at understanding people. He knows how to motivate his underlings, how to demoralize, trick and terrorize his enemies, and how to inspire the people. He can get what he wants out of friend or foe alike eight out of ten times.
F. Weaknesses:
~1. A Contained, indoor environment: Arnaud relies on the elements around him to facilitate his attacks, and has difficulty manipulating complicated compounds and alloys. As a result, if he is caught inside a facility where these are his only resources, most of his attacks are rendered useless. This means that Arnaud is really only an effective fighter out doors,
~2. Electricity: Arnaud’s powers are closely intertwined with his nervous system, and are easily interrupted by electric shock.
~3. Cowardice: Arnaud doesn’t like to fight, and so often runs even from fights which he probably could win. It is very easy to intimidate him when he is alone and doesn’t have an army of loyal henchmen to back him up.
~4. Bribery: As Arnaud doesn’t serve a particular cause, it’s very easy to persuade him to abandon… whatever ideal he happens to be chasing after.
~5. Spiritual/Magical/Psychic attacks: Arnaud has no defenses that can combat these powers directly.

V. Relationships

A. Spouse/Divorcees: Adelaide M. Thenardier (revamped imminent), the wolf/fox hybrid who is bound by the ropes of matrimonial cermony in eternal service to the oligarch-to-be.

B. Friends: Any who support Arnaud are “friends.” Arnaud, however, feels no emotional attachment for any living being whatsoever.

C. Rivals: All who oppose Arnaud.

D. Enemies:
~1. Eustace L. Graston: (revamped bio later today), the morally pure Prime Minister of the democratic nation Marcenia. -Marcenia: The rich capitol of Democracy and rights, this is the stronghold of freedom in Nur'Beaux, and indeed, the world. All animals are given equal rights under this government, and the small nation has prospered. The people very simply elect 30 leaders, who write laws which are enforced by a seperate police dept. They also elect one President who deals with the military, foreign affairs, and serves to guid the unicameral congress.
(The Marcenian electoral system: http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/3561/somethingij3.png
~2. Nigel M. Culverton: The totalitarian oligarch of the socialized hedgehog state. -The Collective: Home of the hedgehogs, this is the rodentine USSR. Led by one totalitarian dictator, The Collective is a socialized state, where the government is rich, and the people poor. Only those who support the government are given enough to survive on, and no luxury is ever given, though everything each citizen produces ( i.e. cars, boots, etc.) is siezed by the government for "the good of the nation." As a result, The Collective is essentially sprawling plain covered in poor apartment houses. The rural citizens live in complete destitution, toiling in the muddy ground for food they will never eat.
The climate in this, the largest nation, is a temperate one, similar to that of North America. The south is very cold, the east is a warm plain good for farming, and the north is cold and snowy.
The government resides in a large lot of land known as the Forbidden, where no mere citizen may tread without fear of death. There is no rich or powerful city in the nation besides this secret compound.
(A diagram of the Collective's hierarchy: http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/7114/hedgehogcommunismea7.png
~3. Abyss the Demon Fox, a sadistic spirit who is the only living being who still instills a deep, penetrating fearinto Arnaud...
~4. Ray Zarra, a powerful shadow being who made Arnaud his personal salve for a short perioud of time.
((Note, Abyss and Ray Zarra were NOT of my creation. Their credits got to Afromand17 and AbyssTheDemonFox of ARF))

Oh my lord...
That's quite a... detailed... profile, to say the least.
Though, since I REALLY don't feel like reading that whole thing...
I read a few quotes, and according to you, they're from a certain RPG.
Which RPG might that be?

Yvette

It was an rpg I wrote and ran for another forum for a while, called Nur'Beaux. It's long been dead, however, and I don't really plan on revitalizing it here (I don't really roleplay much anymore ^^").

if you're curious, the original may be seen here: http://z6.invisionfree.com/Author_Revelation/index.php?showtopic=483&st=0&hl=
