The world is full of amazing scenes, and as far back as photography has been possible, these scenes have been captured. So, feel free to share any amazing photographs you've taken, or found. Anything unrelated (e.g. emo photos of oneself, drawings and paintings) or downright stupid will be removed.

I think one of the most incredible things I've ever seen is the Tiananmen Square protest photo, also known as "Tank Man" or "The Unknown Rebel", in which a single man is seen blocking the path of a row of tanks on their way to the Forbidden City, Beijing. This display of nonviolent protest is one which is famous all around the world, mainly for the bravery of the man himself, and of course the rumours of his identity and whereabouts.

I'm almost certain that this guy was probably killed by the Chinese Government, which is tragic really. China can go fuck itself.

And I'd boycott this year's Olympics too if it weren't for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.

I think this Dali photograph is pretty badass, it was done over 50 years ago, and wasn't even Photoshopped:

This is an amazing picture of the clouds forming a model of Jesus christ.
"The Clouds" is an actual photograph taken in 1972 at the O'Shaughnessy Dam in Columbus, Ohio. It was taken during sunset hours on the Sabbath by Beatrice (Madden) Mielke as an answer to a prayer that she would see Jesus in the clouds.

This is a photograph taken north of Idaho near the Idaho/Washington border line. This so-called "fire rainbow" is an atmospheric phenomenon known as a circumhorizontal arc. (Source from snopes.com)

Fixed.

I like the Dali one to be honest. The Jesus in the clouds is a bit freaky for me.

I agree. The Dali once is fantastic.

The clouds one is interesting, but the actual photography isn't anything to swoon over. I've never been a huge fan of the Tianamen Square photo. I've always had some reservations over it.

They're all interesting, though, without a doubt. I'll post some soonish :]

Infinity I agree with the Tianamen Square photo I've had mixed feelings about it. Not all entirely positive.

I look forward to seeing your ones.

Oh Yes, Tiananmen square... You know, China still doesn't admit that they killed and ran over students? China's got a lot of censorship in the government and everything. They still kill a lot of people these days, I'm glad that I'm not really living in the Mainland or I'd hate it.

Thich Quang Duc, the Burning Monk, who doused himself in petrol and burnt himself to death as a protest against the Vietnam war.

I find that absolutely terrifying that someone could do that as a protest against a war. It's insane. Brave and admirable but not one the kids should try.

What? Dude, it was a protest, it may've been a little overboard but y'know, sometimes, you can't be a living hero.

True, but killing yourself? I mean, "I want civil rights, and I'll kill myself to get them!"

True, but killing yourself? I mean, "I want civil rights, and I'll kill myself to get them!"I dont think he was actually killed. He held up the tanks, shouting at them before climbing onto the first tank and having a conversation with the driver. Then he leaped off of it and was absorbed into a crowd.

However, many beleive that the so called "crowd" were actually soldiers in disguise, who took the man, and either arrested him or killed him, or perhaps even both. But to be honest I think that's completely false. No one knew this guy was going to stand up to the tanks, and yet it just so happens that there were soldiers ready for him? Nah, that doesnt make any sense.

His fate is still unknown, but as far as we know he wasnt killed.

I think they were referring to the buddhist guy who burned himself, that was the cover of a Rage album too, I forget what it was called but it was awesome.

But the Tank Man, as he's referred to, is almost certainly either dead or imprisoned, along with his identity, otherwise we would have found out who it was by now. It's extremely unlikely that he's in hiding, as it make more sense to protect himself by revealing his identity to the world.

Otherwise, here's another one:

It was only a matter of time before this one went up, one of the most famous photographs of the century. Che Guevara, the man himself, never lived to see how famous this picture would become. But whether you like him or not, you have to admit he was one who was dedicated to a certain cause, and didn't flip flop, or do what was convenient at the time.

A lot more honorable than some of those fucktards we love in China, like Mao.
