Let Darkness Overtake, and You will be Safe
A Role Playing topic by Blinding

The world was cold. Ice covered the ground entirely, with ice over the remains of Juron, home to his fathers grave, causing him to slip every time he took a step. He sighed heavily, he did not like it here. He could sense the evil pass of his mothers beliefs, he could sense the man that killed his father, he could sense all those experiments, all those cold nights outside in the trees just to get away from the constant bickering. He wanted to leave, but couldn't. He had a job to do.

He turned towards his old home, where he would surely see his mother curled up in a corner, awaiting for her "evil son" to return home to help with the massive killings of those who did not fallow her "Shadow religion." But, she was wrong. Tears escaped from his eyes, as he reached for one of his daggers with one hand, and then grabbed his heart necklace with his other. He stared at the door he was about to open, and reached for the knob, ripping the necklace from his neck and onto the ground, revealing the photo of his golden furred mother.

He pushed open the door, and with a creek, he was inside. He looked around, walked in, and closed the door half-way behind him. With his dagger still hidden in his hoodie's pocket, he walked around, looking for his mother. "Mum, I know you're here. I'm home mum, I've come back." he said aloud, hoping for a response. None. He began walking towards the stairs when he heard something from the kitchen.

"S-s-sshadow-w, is th-that you-u?" she said, he voice shaky from the cold. He turned around and looked at her. She was nothing but skin and bones, most likely not having anything to eat for the past week. Another tear parted from his eye, and he headed towards her. She raised her eyebrows in panic, and began saying "What-t, whatt are you do-oing-g?" until finally he was standing in front of her.

"I'm sorry mum." he said, as a flood of tears escaped from his eyes and rolled off onto the floor below. He pulled out his hidden dagger, and shoved it deep into her chest, causing her to squirm about in his arms. He began to sob, his mother was surely dead, at his own hand, but it was for the well-being of the rest of the galaxy. He stood there, holding her in his arms until her chest stopped heaving. He then laid her onto the floor, pulling his dagger out of her as he arrange her arms in a peaceful manner. More tears rolled off onto her torn shirt. "I'm sorry, mum, I'm sorry." he said, and then stood up and started towards the door.

Walking through a field in the vast ice landscape is a single male of a human specie. He is quite tall and from what you could see, quite lean. As for his face you wouldn't see alot for the bottom half an left side is covered by a cloth mask, his medium long, ruffled hair slightly billowing in the chilly wind. His clear amethyst coloured eye stares straight a head lazily as he keeps walking, sporting a thick black scarf, a long black leather trench coat, a white hoodie, a pair of black jeans, white, thick, double layered socks and black, sturdy walking boots to keep him warm.

[Blinding]

Shadow's ears stiffened. He heard the crunching of frozen grass echoing from the damage buildings, indicating that someone was walking towards the house. Dagger still gripped in hand, he eased the door open slowly, peeking around to corner to see who was there. He saw a tall, slim figure, apparently not aware of what just happened. He started to close the door when it suddenly made a loud creaking noise. He crouched, drew his other dagger, and waited for the figure to approach.

[Black Knight]

The man raises an eyebrow, not thinking any living being would have their home in one of the deserted, cold and hellish buildings that were now left. He slowly starts approaching the house, wondering if it'd been the wind or an animal that had made the noise. "Hey? Is anyone alive in there?" he shouts

[Steel Valor]

A large ferret is seen walking through the snow, crunching with each step. He dons a red hooded cloak, black pants and shoes. An aura of seriousness airs out from him. His covered with the flakes of snow. The cold, brisk air enters and leaves his lungs, a mist is to be seen leaving from his wet nose. He tries hard not to pay attention to the temperature despite its hold on his limbs. "For a region like this, it's extremely cold."

[Metal Overlord Type X]

X stood in the center of a small clearing. Snow covered the permafrost-hardened ground, and the wind whistled as it brushed on his metal surface. He turned around to see his long-time friend, Artemis, shivering insanely and staring at the sky.
"You shouldn't have come. You know you can't stand the cold..." He said with a soft, yet fathering, tone.

Artemis turned to him and, with almost an apologetic look, said, "I'm sorry, X, but you know... I can't live without knowing how you are... I couldn't live with myself if something happened and I wasn't there to stop it..."

X sighed, "Well, you're here. I'm still not too sure why, but it's too late for that..." He stared at the snow under his feet as he walked closer to her.

Artemis turned her gaze back to the sky. "Tell me, X, what reason could you possibly have for coming all the way out here... It seems so dead to me... So empty...."

[Blinding]

Shadow gripped his daggers tighter as the figure yelled. He looked around the house for a way out without avoiding this unknown stranger, but the only way was the front door. He sighed, stood up, and slowly turned the nob. He pulled it back, showing that the figure was indeed a human. He could feel his body start to get warmer as his hatred returned.

"John." he said, as he started sprinting towards the human, about to attack. As he took his first few steps, he felt like he was sinking. He ran on a patch of ice, and slipped. His body hit the ground, as his daggers flew free from his hands. He slid towards the human, knocked out cold.

[Black Knight]

"John? What the?" The man says with a raised eyebrow and the daggers are suddenly lifted from the ground by something invisble and then gets placed in the man's hand. He puts them in one of his pockets and then walks up to the strange fox, kneeling down by him.
"Hey?" he asks, shaking him...

[Blinding]

Shadow's mind awakens as he gasps for air, his body being shook by the stranger. He opened his eyes, as he slowly sat up, coughing violently. He then remember that this stranger was a human, quite possibly John. He turned around, pushed off of the humans shins, stood up, and got into an attacking pose.

"What the hell do you want?!?" he said, his eyes almost glowing red as he stared at the human.

[Metal Overlord Type X]

Artemis' ears twitched, "X, did you hear that? Like a loud thud."

"Yeah... It sounds like it came from that direction..." He responded and pointed off, his eyes now fixed in that direction.

"Should we go? Or is there still something you need to do here?" She put a hand on his shoulder but quickly retracted because it was so cold. She gave off a weak laugh at her own foolishness.

"Mm... Let's go see what happened..." X grabbed Artemis' wrist and sprinted off in the direction of the sound.

[Black Knight]

"The hell is your problem?!" the man snaps back as he glares up at Shadow, rolling backwards and then straightening himself.
"And I don't want anything, I'm just travelling..." he replies, his attitude a lot calmer then a second ago.

[Blinding]

Shadow's hand began to shake. He realized he didn't have his daggers. He was pretty much overpowered from the get go. But then he realized that this stranger couldn't possibly be John, nor serve a threat, so he let his guard down slightly.

"I'm..I'm sorry," he said softly. "Its just that a human, by the name of John, killed my father when I was but 2."

Shadow's ear stiffened as he heard a pair of footsteps running towards them. He instinctively reached for his daggers, only for them not to be found. He looked around the ground, and then panicked. "Where are my daggers?!?" he yelled at the human, his hands beginning to shake from exposure to the cold.

[Metal Overlord Type X]

This looks interesting... X thought to himself as he began to see the silhouettes of two figures. As he and Artemis got closer though, he began to make out more features and motions. It was a fox and a human, both male. The fox seemed panicked, the man appeared calm and steady. "Temi, hold on." X said as he stopped abruptly.

Artemis, surprised by the sudden stop, almost crashed into X. "Woah! How about warning me nex-" X cut her off with a sharp glare, then returned his gaze to the two ahead of them.

X began to walk towards the two slowly, Artemis following behind him.

[Black Knight]

The man turns to Shadow and throws back his daggers "Here!" he says and looks in the direction of the running...

[Blinding]

One of the daggers lands on Shadow's foot, causing him to scream in pain as the sharp exposed his flesh. He instantly dropped down to yank the dagger out, which causing another gasp of pain, and then he sat down, watching as the blood began to flow out.

Artemis couldn't help herself, she burst out laughing once she saw what happened. "Oh.. My god..." She started panting for breath in between the laughter.

X stared up at them, "Hmm, this one seems to attract bad luck quite well..." He sighed, "Temi.... What am I going to do with you? C'mon, we should see what's really going on..." He grabbed Artemis, who was trying to control her laughter, and began to walk towards the two figures.
"Hey!" He called, "What's going on here"

[Black Knight]

"Ah, let me stitch that up for ya...." the man says to Shadow with a guilty look on what could be seen of his face before he glances in Artemis and X's direction. He slowly walks up to Shadow, kneeling down by his foot...

[Steel Valor]

Steel hears a yelp in the distance as he continues walking. He mentally decides to discover it's source. He ends up stumbling upon Shadow and the group. He trudges down to meet them."A sight for sore eyes, civilization out in this baron wasteland."

[Ziggy]

A Teenage White Tiger was walking through the cold. He's wearing a black hood sweater jacket, Maroon colored sweat pants, golden gloves, and Shoes of all the color all he wore.

As He walked, He noticed a large ferret in the distance, he decided to follow.
Moments later He heard a big Cry out in pain, And he saw the ferret rush towards the sound.
"HEY! WAIT UP!" he called out to it, but it didn't here him. He ran after the ferret, wondering what he'll find.

[Blinding]

Shadow felt the humans cold hands touch his wounded, and bit his tongue to keep in his shriek of pain. He heard several more footsteps approaching, but didn't attempt to do anything about it. He saw a ferret approach, fallowed by a white tiger, and started to growl softly. He sense evil in one of these randoms, like they were aligned with Shadow and Dr. Robotnik, even after they had both vanished.

[Metal Overlord Type X]

Artemis and X stopped a few feet from Shadow and the human. In the distance, they saw two more figures closing in.
"Woah, you okay there?" Artemis, seeming to switch moods randomly, said in a worried and mothering tone.

Ugh, again with the mood swings... I don't think she even realizes it.. X thought to himself then, noticing the Fox' bleeding foot, said, "What happened here?"

[Black Knight]

Shadow would feel his foot sting, but if he pulled away to look at what the man had done he'd see that his wound had suddenly been stiched...

[Roach]

An Orange and silver Anteater name Roach in the distance was watching a ferret and a tiger sprint in the cold.

"hmmm I wonder whats going on, I think I'll go check it out"

Roach then quickly dug a hole in the ground and jumped in, then started traveling underground towords the seen. When he emerged, he came apon a human, a fox, a cat, and a robot.

"hmmmm, that robot seems fimilure somehow" he said quietly to himself.

Roach just stared for a moment trying to guess what happend. Then noticed that someone had hurt there foot.

"Uh...Hi." he said softly.

[Steel Valor]

Steel looks at the motley crew standing before him, he chuckles to himself slightly and observes the stiched wound on Shadow's foot. His eyes zoom everywhere catching the slightest hint that they might be hostile or likely foes. He stays silent, trying to avoid a fight.

[Blinding]

Shadow winces as he looks down at his foot, realizing that it is all stitched up now. He tries to stand up, and falls right back down to the ground. He held in his new scream of pain and his foot hits the icy, rock hard ground below. He sits up, and looks at the human.

"Err...thanks," he said akwardly. He then glanced around, and saw that there was several new strangers making their way towards them. He let go of a sigh, and looked down at the ground, waiting for any of them to attack at sight of him.

[Black Knight]

The human gives him his sock and shoe back to get them on. He then slowly stands up and looks in the direction of the approaching group. Quite a strange bunch...He thinks as he raises an eyebrow. Then again, I'm not what you can call normal myself...he chuckles to himself.

[Ziggy]

Ty has seen the poor fox fall over in pain. "Dude, you okay?" He said as he looked down at him.
He then looked at the others to see how many different species were in the same area.

He notice a glare behind the fox, He walked over to it. It was a knife.
He picked it up. "Hey...Does this belong to anyone?" He looked around at the others.

X, just noticing the other arrive, glances over them.
Artemis steps forward, oblivious to the others, gets down on one knee, and says,
"Need some help up?" Artemis smiles as she extends her hand to the fox.

[Blinding]

Shadow looks at the ferret and softly says "Yeah, mine." He picked up the other dagger, the one that was in his foot a few min ago, and stuffed it into his pocket. He then looks at Artemis's hand, and sighed. His hand reached for it, when suddenly he stopped cold. He sense something evil coming towards them, something that seemed impossible. He sensed his mother.

He took the hand sharply, and got to his foot. He pulled out his dagger, and said loud and clear "Everyone, watch out. Something's going to happen, don't freak out or anything." As he said that, the ground began to shake wildly, the ice cracking everywhere. Over the horizon, you could see a yellow light: Shadow's mother, in her "super mode." She was not fragile and old now, she looked like she could take on the Hulk in a weight lifting contest.

She had large, dragon like wings now, and her hair was longer, flowing at least a meter past her tail. Her eyes were a dark red, and she had red, glowing stripes all across her black fur. On her forehead, you could see a red jewel, the jewel that in fact had been a gift from Shadow the Hedgehog himself.

Shadow shuttered. Some serious shit was about to go down, and he didn't know if he could stop it or not.

[Steel Valor]

Steel retains his composure and calmly speaks for the first time. "Apologies for my rudeness, but what the heck is that thing? It's not native to this land is it?"

[Metal Overlord Type X]

[I think you two are getting confused. Ziggy's a Tiger, Blinding's a Fox, and Steel is the Ferret. Ziggy's the one who picked up your dagger o.O]

Artemis returned to her feet, just noticing everyone around her, and seeing their gaze shift. Following them, she saw the figure in the horizon, and, after hearing the Fox' words, quickly returned to X' side.

"I have a bad feeling about this, Temi."
"Bad feeling? I'm pretty sure it should be more than a feeling, X!"

[Blinding]

Shadow's mother approaches. Then, everything flashes black. Shadow's eyes are closed, thinking of Mobius, thinking of everything good there. He opened his eyes, to see that they were in black space with a glowing logo of "GAME OVER." from Mario in front of them.

"What...the...fuck." he said. He closed his eyes, thought of Mobius, and opened them. They were back on the ice planet, his mother still fallowing him. He apparently couldn't teleport, his mother was probably blocking that one power. He gripped his dagger tightly, and crouched low.

[Roach]

Roach was trying to study the events around him.
"hmmm, something is dark is drowning the air... I can sense it."
Roach faced toword the Metal Hedgehog again wonder if he has seen him before.

[Black Knight]

Raul tenses and goes into a battle stance, a beast like growl coming from underneth his mask...definetly not something you'd expect from a human, but thinking of the circumstances everyone were probably too busy staring at Shadow's mum to realise that Raul was making strange sounds. His single visible eye turns red with a single black vertical pupil in it.
"Filth...." he mutters, glaring cooly at Shadow's mum...

[Ziggy]

"Great, a battle, this stinks." Ty said as he handed the dagger to Shadow.
"At least I can use some self defense already." he said in a calm voice.
He stood firmly a studied the creature, witch was hovering over them.

[Blinding]

Shadow swiftly grabs his other dagger, and then lowers his head, closes his eyes, and waits a couple of seconds. His mother is now only a few meters away, though it seems much longer. He opens his eyes, showing that they were now glowing red, as golden white wings sprouted from his upper back, his fur turning a golden whitish color with red stripes forming all over his body. His wings are now around 2 to 3 meters long as he decides to stand up straight.

His wings pulse gently as his mother lands harshly on the ground in front of them, her wings going back into her back. "You...you betrayed me!" she hissed, in a demoniac voice, "After I raised you when your father was killed!"

Shadow glares at her, as his daggers start to transform into a long metal rod with a spiral at the end. "No. I tried to stop what you were planning." he said coolly, his daggers now completely transformed. He pulsed his wings harder, allowing him to push off the ground and float a few feet above the group of strangers.

His mother pulled a sword from an unrevealed pocket, and let it glimmer in the now rising sun. She laughed, an evil laugh, that sent chills down Shadow's back. He hovered for a second, before flying towards her. CLING. Both of their weapons struck, as sparks flew everywhere.

"I will not let you try to attempt your plan." Shadow said, anger in his voice. She laughed, and replied "You are too late, dear boy." She lowered her sword, ducked as Shadow's rod went over her head, and missed at an attempt to stab him.

Shadow drew his rod in close, and twirl it in his hands to reveal a sharp point on the other end. He stabbed her with it, going right through her upper chest. She laughed, again, and said "Oh, you think that's all it's going to take?" She spun, breaking the rod, leaving Shadow defenseless. "Hmm...looks like I will have to kill you."

[Ziggy]

"hmm...She's no joke, I see."
Ty acted quick, He ran towards the family feud and push shadow out of the way just before the mother could strike.
"You ok?" Ty asked. " Need to be more careful, you have a group of ally strangers, ya know?"

[Black Knight]

Shadow's mum would be knocked back by a blast of fire and if they both looked down they'd see Raul hovering a bit above the ground, an aura of fire and darkness surrounding him. They'd see a pair of fox tails with black fur that had sprouted, along with a fox ear on the left side of his head. His teeth, which were now fangs, were bared at Shadow's mother as he growls loudly, letting out a bark like sound.

[Metal Overlord Type X]

Flames erupted in Artemis' left hand.
"We have to help them, X!" She shouted, "We can't just stand by and watch!"

"You're right, Temi. Watch yourself though, creating fire here could endanger your own health as well." X paused, "I don't know exactly what's going on here, but we have to stop.... whatever that thing is..." X' approval was all Artemis needed. She tossed the fireball in her hand towards Shadow's mother and created another in her right hand.

I'm still not sure... But I've never been one to sit by while others get hurt...
With that thought, X entered the battle himself. He steadied his aim on Shadow's mother and held his left arm out, hand palm forward.
Just stay steady a little longer now....

[Roach]

"hmmm... Not sure what I can do but..."
Roach dug into the ground and with his small amount of dark masma ability he shot dark masma threw the ground and succeded in creating a dark tar patch around Shadows mother slowing her movements.
"gah hah hah... fun"

[Ziggy]

"Guess that's my cue." Ty clapped his hands together and kept them that way.
He brought his hands to his face, and started to repeat the words,"Seka Septa Beam, Seka Septa Beam." The he separated his hands just a little, having them in a formation as if he were holding a "crystal ball".
A red ball started to form in between them, as the ball grew bigger, He repeated the words louder. "SEKA SEPTA....BEAM!" He yelled at the top of his lungs.
A big laser be came out his hands, shaped like a dragon.

He aimed straight at Shadow's mother....This would suck, If it misses...

[Blinding]

Shadow quickly closed his eyes, freezing time and everything around him. He gasped, and kicked himself away from his mother, seeing several blasts of energy coming directly at his mother. He closed his eyes again, and felt time slowing starting up again. Everything was moving slowly, but picked up pace rather fast as he saw his mothers expression of confusion and horror before these strangers attack hit her dead on.

Her body fell like a rock, landing in the tar patch and started to burn. Shadow landed on the ground, as his fur started to turn back to it's normal color, and his wings begin the shrink into his back. He picked up the half of the rod as it began to transform back into a dagger, and held it tightly.

[Black Knight]

The man's feet touch the ground again and he lets out a gasp, doubling over as the aura slowly starts disappearing. That combination wasn't to mess with...He thinks to himself and looks at the different people as his eyes slowly goes from red with a vertical pupil to it's normal amethyst colour and normal pupil...

[Metal Overlord Type X]

X lowers his hand, "Guess I was too slow... Heh."
His gaze turned to Artemis, who, even though she had only used a small amount of fire, looked as if she was about to collapse.
"Temi, this is one of those stupid moments you have..." He sighed as he saw her.

"Yeah, I guess... Using fire while I'm already freezing isn't really a smart idea... But I had to help somehow..." She said defensively while still acknowledging her foolishness.

The two advanced quickly towards the others in their group of complete strangers.

[Steel Valor]

"Deranged dragons, maniacal scientists, dwarves. I've seen it all now." Steel comments out of humor. "How can this day get any more bizarre is completely beyond me. So let me recap, that dragon was your mother?"

[Roach]

Roach came out of the hole he dug and the tar patch vanished. Confused on what was going on he walked to the group of strangers.
"hmmm... that was... new"

[Ziggy]

Oh my god, Roach...You say"hmmm" a lot...Please stop. it's getting annoying.:o

After the Mother fell to the ground, Ty did too. "Wow..That..really takes the...energy out." He said holding his chest. Ty took deep breathes and looked over at the lifeless corps. "I Hope It Died..." Ty said to the strnge group.

"uh..Well, since no one else wants to say anything I'll go ahead and introduce myself....I'm..Ty...Ty the Tiger." He said looking at each and everyone of their staring eyes.

[Black Knight]

Shadows transformation was done, as he gripped his dagger tightly. There laid her corpse, his own mother. He had his doubts about weather or not she was truly dead, but he blocked those out and sighed. He turned around, facing the others, as he put his dagger into his pocket.

"Look, thanks, but uh, I really really need to do this alone," he said, in his monotonic voice. He lowered his head, waiting for them to say something like "No, we want to help!" or "What the hell was that thing?" or "Why the hell is everyone else here?"

Raul studies Shadow while staying quiet, his face completely blank before he finally shrugs and looks seriously at him.
"We gotta do what we gotta do. I just ask you if you CAN do it alone?" he then goes quiet once more, waiting for Shadow's reply.

Ty looks at the mysterious masked man. "Uh, By the looks of that battle, I don't think he can do it alone."
Ty turned his head slowly and looked at Shadow. "Just let us help."

"You're an idiot to say that, Grendel. Look what you've done so far and from what I've seen you haven't gotten anywhere. You now have me as an ally." Steel scratches his head looks up at the gray sky. "My scars itch..."
