Sonic Underground was an oddity. It was launched at a time where Sega was making their last stand as a major player in the gaming industry.

Had Sega followed Nintendo's example and made a Sonic anime during this time, things could have gone much differently. I mean, not only would it have been successful, but they already had material to base if off of: The Sonic Movie. During the time when Pokemon was all the rage on TV I always wondered why Sega didn't.

Instead, they endorsed a show that had lacked relevance or an audience, and turned a possible gain into a loss. Sure they made an anime series 5 years later, but it totally lacked the classic "look" and storyline that I had imagined in the 90s.

It's a shame, really.

The idea was good in my opinion... but the show didn't pull it off very well. The characters were annoying at times; especially the villians. :/ And the random musical stuff... that could have been left out... it all just seemed... random and out of the blue; nothing like any of the games. D:

As Nekiko has said Sonic Underground was a bit of a random one and extremely annoying. The characters were... random, the plot made little to no sense and let's face it the "music" was not even music it was just unnecessary noise... I disliked the show - it came out in the UK on DVD years before SatAM ever had a look in.

ummmmmm sonic underground was ok everyone says it sucks but it's really ok (out of the episodes iv'e watched)!:D

Sonic Underground wasn't too bad at all. But, thruth be told, the singing absolutely, possitively, SUCKED BALLS!
