I didn't know where to put this; so if there's a mod who sees this post and knows the right place, please move it.

I'm going to create a video game based on fan characters of Sonic Earth. I know, I know, for those of you who have seen posts like this before on Sonic Zone, I'd like to give some reassurance and answers to some questions that may be asked.

1. The game is going to be a side scroller like the classic STH games and the GBA Sonic Advanced games.
2. I need characters for the game, so feel free to post sprites of your characters and maybe a small description of their basic "play type".
3. I'm going to work on this. THIS IS A PROJECT THAT I HAVE FUN DOING.
4. I know what the feck I'm doing.

w00t, first reply! ^.^

I'm working on my charrie's sprites...I'll try to get them to you soon. I'm tied up with a fangame of my own, so I may be too late. That would suck. X_X

BTW, what kind of play style does your character have?

EDIT: Play style as in, attacks, speed, strength, etc.

Well, it does sound like something interesting to get into, but I'm not the best at spriting, so I might just have to sit out. Would it be STH or advanced sprites?

On another note, I am releasing screenshots of the game tonight. They are below;

I present to you the main menu. The only option that you may choose so far includes the one you see above; "Play Game". In the final product, there will also be an "Options" selection as well as a small menu where the "Play Game" option will open up into two additional selections. A "Versus" mode is currently being thought over.

This is the character select menu when you choose to play a game. From here, you will see the entire selection of playable characters. The only one here is my character, "Champ The Chao", who currently serves as a 'testing dummy' for the game engine and, in the end, he will be a playable character.

I hope you like what you see so far. New features, levels, and modes will be added in later, so be ready!

EDIT: The first post will be updated with the screenshots.

BTW, what kind of play style does your character have?

EDIT: Play style as in, attacks, speed, strength, etc.

He's a martial artist. His attacks will be quick combat moves, mostly kicks. Strength-wise he's weak, but his attacks will be fast and furious. His running speed will be average (nowhere near Sonic, but fast). He's a great jumper, can swim across the surface, and perform dodging moves (like backflips and stuff in a pinch). Hopefully that won't be too much work.

Oi, I remember when I started my first fan game. I had about seven characters before I realized I had no idea what the hell I was doing.

I mean, It was an engine, and that was it. I didn't know how to implement enemies, I didn't know how to make scenery, so it ended up being some shitty puzzle game I never released.
