I know most people like to talk about mostly video games, music, media, etc. So I wanted to try something a little different and try to get people to talk about the primary election. Who do think should win? Why? Do think they will do a good job as president? etc.

I personally think Hilary should win because she has some experience in office since her husband was also president. But i still think Obama has a good chance.

I don't want to restrict this to anywhere in particular, so how about we do this:

Where are you?

What are your thoughts on your respective issues?

Who's in charge? Why do they/don't they suck? Who do you want to see in charge and why?

Example:

I live in the USA.

Right now I'm disgusted by the edited videos of the Iranian boat confrontation that have been circulating in order to generate hysteria before the elections. It has Guiliani written all over it.

Bush can rot in hell for way too many reasons to list, and the ultimate fantasy election would between Paul/McCain and Obama/Kucinich, though I don't think an honest election is remotely possible.

Rant to your heart's desire if you wish.

I live in USA as well

The fact that Hillary won the New Hampshire primaries has gotten me mad.

I just want Obama or Huckabee to get higher ratings...

We need someone in there that will do something about pollution.

USA

Global Warming and pollution is real. And even if it wasn't, this is our one and ONLY home and so we need to take care of it. If it falls to pieces, so do we.

Bush is an idiot and I have no idea how he was elected twice.

Australia

That Australia has been fucked around for the past 11 years by John Howard.

Kevin Rudd is okay for now but the last Prime minister John Howard was a complete idiot. He said he would increase interreest rates but he did and he was going to bring in the IR laws ( meaning no overtime, no holiday rates, etc. in other words he was completely being down right unfair) and he was going to re-tire and another person was going to take the job that we didn't even choose....

I could go on but I can't remember half the stuff I was going to type

I am registering as an Independent, but am liberal. I would otherwise have planned to register with the Democratic party if not for the fact that being restricted to a two-party system disheartens me, and that the Dems have been pussy-footing too much as of late in fear of scaring off potential 'values' voters.

President Bush is in charge, obviously. haha, good times.
I'm lol'n over the edited video scandal as well.

I'm intensely disappointed with the third party candidates available-- no surprise.
I want a Democrat in the white house for now. I'm favoring Senator Clinton as my candidate for the resources she can bring at this time. I thought Obama was all right in the beginning but my opinion of him has declined after researching voting records, positions, statements, etc. between candidates. I like a few things about Edwards (a few things a lot) but he fails to really win me over in the long run.

I really do love the primaries. So much belligerence tied into candidate support. Good times.

Yes, I disliked John Howard myself, the Australian conservatives are almost as bad as the ones over here, and I was glad to see him out. It was annoying to see how much money and resources that he wasting on non-existent terrorism in Australia just to appease the Great Bush, instead of somewhere better suited like health or education like he promised.

As for Huckabee Espio, I think he displays some leadership qualities but is just way too much a radical Christian for me, if he had his way he'd put everyone gay or with AIDS in concentration camps, and he's expressed a desire multiple times to at least quarantine them. Seeing what's happened in the last 8 years, this country just can't handle the tarnish and strain of another Dubya, never mind someone with the same ideas, though even more narrow minded.

Answer his question.

Obama
I hope this guy wins. I'm not into politics and stuff, so I can't explain why. I respect him, not hilary.

Politics are bullshit. Only 2 good things have come out of politics.

1) Bill O'Reilly and his mad ranting
2) Bill Clinton

But, with that said, Hilary Clinton is a fucking bitch, so let that other guy - whatever his name his - be the next president. But what do I care and why should I care? I'm not American.

This I agree with. However, it is difficult because we're all from different countries to discuss one country's political policies and upcoming elections fairly.

However I do have one thing to say: Unfortunately because the UK is a massive suck up to the US he seem to be getting more and more American with our news. We always have at least ONE topic on the news about America. Luckily for me I refuse to watch television or news because both are filled with complete and utter BS (either too depressing or too stupid) that I refuse to put my IQ down by watching. Plus television licences are WRONG. Get a clue UK! Get rid of the BBC's no-advert policy.

But that's another matter. I do not like keeping up with politics like I used to because unless it directly affects me... It's of no concern to me.

Don't you just love inflation?

And to think 20 days ago I was ready to invest my entire account in Apple right before Macworld!

Too bad Bush does all he can to deny it, the State of the Union (AKA the arguing old married couple, North and South) Address is going to be total bullshit.

We are, as the French like to say, le fucked.

Yeah, but what's your opinion on it? Not your friends, YOUR opinion? ^^

Personally I can't be arsed with politics, yet I seem to always be pulled into discussions considering politics or religion alot.

It's a miracle if any country gets a decent leader because most leaders tends to be assholes or idiots. It's like they say, all good leaders are hairdressers or cab drivers.

Its the mud-slinging phase. |D

Hillary quotes her husband's insults.

Obama makes this remark at South Carolina.

"There is such a thing as being too white." - Obama

If Hilary wins the election, our country is fucked. We'll pull out troops from Iraq and Afghanastan way too early, which pretty much means "Yeah, we surrender terrorists, attack us again!" We'll have higher taxes, and [Not that I have anything wrong with these type of people, but I just feel that our country isn't mature enough to handle it yet] she'll allow gay marriage. Our economy is already fucked enough already, and I doubt Hilary will do anything towards improving our current worth of the dollar [82 cents or something like that, maybe lower.] and probably won't provide enough jobs, causing a sudden steep fall in the Stock Market. Essentially, if Hilary wins, we might as well not be a country.

I'm personally pulling for Obama. We're ready for a [no offense] black president, and I think that he'll do good to our economy, provide jobs for those who need them, and all of that stuff. But, if he doesn't get elected, then I think Ron Paul will.

Hillary can't pass gay marriage; the president does not have as much power as it seems you are impling. On a personal level she would allow it (though she's very quiet about it, she has come to accept it), but because the country isn't ready, for the time she will leave it to the states and encourage civil unions. Before the bill even comes to her table congress must pass it, which it certainly cannot. Nextly, in researching each candidate's official stands on the Iraq war, one will see that Hillary (and Obama) do not plan on immediate withdrawal; Edwards however is a little more extreme. And withdrawal will not lead to more attacks on the US, but rather regional instability in the middle east (which there already it) and inevitable shifts (which could be good or bad). Taxes will be raised, yes, because Bush cut them foolishly. Obama and Edwards would do the same. However, she would lower them on the poor and middle class and raise them on the rich in response to her predecessors actions. And she will not raise them so much it will hurt US families badly, given her statements in acknowledgment and warning of the growing recession. Frankly though, we need to raise them sooner or later.

She can't fuck the country. Any candidate is capable of screwing up (just look at how horribly our finances have been managed these past years), but in fours years no one person can ruin us- just look at past executives. The US executive system is flawed, but that much is true.

I actually don't have much of a problem with any of that, and I don't think most Americans do. Higher taxes? Remember the 90's? And please dispel the "they'll follow us back here!" mentality, I mean shit, have we learned anything from Vietnam?

Though I do hate Hillary, I hope that she picks Bill Clinton as her running mate so that she'll die and we'll have Slick-Willie-in-Chief again, because he was awesome.

Our economy is already fucked enough already...

Now this is just plain contradictory, you realize that our dollar isn't worth shit because we're in the Middle East? George Bush has fucked the economy sideways, 9/11 fucking blew it, and because of this godforsaken administration's reaction to it all, the extremists have achieved more than they could have possibly hoped for. This country is a sinking ship, have you ever wondered if maybe there's a connection between George Bush's corporate buddies, corporations going to China, and our monumental debt to China?

We're being strategically pillaged, and most people are all too happy to look the other way. I'm not even going to bother with the election because it's completely bought sold and paid for. I'm more concerned about the shit-tacular upcoming World War. While our economy bleeds, our military might stay strong, but that won't stop more and more countries from beginning to shove back as soon as they realize our influence is waning. This will result in a massive backlash, which will end when China (and maybe India) fucks us over royally.

I suggest you pick up a god damn history book while I play Sonic Adventure.

I like politics I find it interesting but it's difficult to discuss with people. Because a lot of people cannot be bothered or are not smart enough to discuss it maturely with me. I hate people here sometimes.
