The Haunted Forest

I'm taking my main character Steven (DAMN I've been rping with the same guy since 7th grade xD)

Name: Steve Stevenly Stevens
Age: 23

Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 150lbs
Gender: MALE
Description: Steve is a tall lanky guy who comes off as a scary individual at first if you don't know him. He has long black hair extending to his mid-chest and a mustache and chin beard. His eyes are three colors each as well.

He is usually found wearing a trench coat with combat boots and sunglasses. Underneath his trench is often an armada of guns and weapons a like.

Personality: Steve has been noted to be irrationally Chaotic from times and is definitely not a goody-two-shoes. Often is is seen collaborating with Eggman himself and other evil parties. His love of blood is almost as big as his love for illicit activities and causing chaos. As a rule of thumb though he is generally neutral to most parties or activities, some claim him to be Neutral evil.

Outside of work he's generally an easy-going happy-go-lucky doofus.

Forests are abundant with life, though, you rarely see a deer up close, or a raccoon even bears that often in a forest, yet you still know they're in there. It was a dark and overcast afternoon in late November. Steve had taken a walk though a nearby forest by the Doomnik lair. He's often glanced from his bedroom window toward this distant peaceful looking place.

He decided to take a journey into the dark and foreboding forest, while making sure he got back before Family Guy aired on TV. He checked his watch and said aloud to himself, "hmmmm 8:40... I've got enough time to smoke and wander aimlessly" as he pulled out a home-rolled cigarette from behind his ear and lit it up and began to smoke it. All the while minding his own business.

Kaine was sitting on the ground, his back to a large oak tree.
His eyes were closed in deep though as he wondered what he should do.
He opened his eyes slowly and stared at the dark sky above him.
"Ahh, what is there now? Is there truly nothing to do?" He said apathetically.
He stood up, still staring at the sky.
"Might as well get moving. Don't want to stay in this place too long. It's giving me an uneasy feeling." He grumbled as he turned his head forward and began walking, unsure of which way was out.

Kaine isn't one to be scared of the dark, but this was different. It didn't feel natural to him. He just wanted to get out of it as fast as possible.

Steve continued to puff away and stroll carelessly amongst the dying foliage. His journey continued until he encountered a large clearing in woods, with one solitary tree in the center. This tree stood out among the other trees as very large and tall.

"huh... I've never seen this tree before..." Steve mumbled to himself blowing out smoke.

Encircling the tree he noticed that on one side of the tree there appeared to be a twisted face that looked as if it were in agony. He ran his hand across the smooth bark and over the face and a low gurgle sounded from what seemed to be deep within the tree.

That didn't sound right... he thought to himself as the gurgle stopped and the trees in the forest began to moan. A gust picked up and blew hard on his back whipping his trench about.

Kaine remained uneasy as he walked through the forest.
"What is this place..? I can't... I can't shake the feeling that something is wrong here..." Kaine mumbled to himself.
Suddenly, he heard a strange moaning coming from all around him.
"What the Hell!? This definitely isn't normal." He said shakily as he started sprinting further into the forest. As he ran, the moans seemed to grow louder and louder until he reached a large clearing, in which the moans seemed to grow softer.
"Finally, away from that insane forest..." Klain sighed and examined his surroundings. He saw that he didn't truly get out of the forest, and was still surrounded by it. He also saw a lone man standing next to a large tree.
"What, there's someone else out here?" He whispered.

[Legato]

Confusion swept over Steve as the forest seemed to come alive. The sound of twigs snapping in the distance caught his attention and he readied himself for anything; and soon the sun would be setting below the horizon.

Suddenly a figure appeared out of the corner of his vision.

Steve's eyes shifted toward this newcomer and he finished off his smoke and his eyes were definitely bloodshot. He spit the joint from his mouth and flicked his wrist whipping out a derringer. The gun was primed and ready to fire.

Keeping his aim, he calmly asked, "Who are you?"

"Straight to the point, I see." Kaine said, mockingly, yet still with a monotone voice.
He stared straight to the man without any hesitation and said with the same tone,
"Though, I don't suppose I have any other option besides answering you."
"I'm Kaine, that's all. I don't need a fight right now." He finished, his tone regaining it's seriousness.

"Now," he said, fully regaining his composure , "Who are you?"

[Legato]

"I am Steven of the Doomniks, you are trespassing on private property... however, at this moment I'd rather escape from this place as it is."Steven said calmly lowering his gun and looking around the clearing, "Come..." he beckoned and moved to the tree line.

Kaine thought to himself as he followed Steven back into the forest
"You seem to know this place well enough, happen to know what the hell is going on with these trees?" Kaine said softly as he followed behind.

[Legato]

Steven thought to himself for a short while and answered back, "I'm not entirely sure what's going on myself. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened." He dodged a tree limb just that second and continued to say, "but I think we're stuck here now... because this road used to lead out of the forest... and it doesn't any more."

Kaine took a moment to absorb what Steven had told him.
"So you're telling me, a road that used to go one place, now leads nowhere?"
He let out a sigh. "I suppose with what I've seen so far, it's not too unbelievable..." Following behind slowly, he stared around at the trees.
It feels, it doesn't feel natural... It doesn't feel right...

[Legato]

"That's correct" He paused and pointed out a sign that claimed they were on the right track, "We've passed this sign already..."

Suddenly there was a loud howl from deep inside the forest coming from what sounded like wolves. Subsequently the trees began to shake again and moan, forming what appeared to be faces; and swaying wildly against the breeze and from what they knew reality.


" o.o I'm officially not sure this is Doom city any more. Do you have any knowledge of these woods?" Steven asked slightly bewildered by the events as they unfolded.

"Don't look at me... I just stumbled upon this place. I never expected it to be like this..." Kaine said, slightly uneasily as he saw the trees and heard the howls.
