River City Ransom: Titus's Rise

October 1989. It's a great day in the River City and Cross Town communities. The sky has sparse clouds, the temperature is perfect, and 18-year-old Alex, a senior of River City High, doesn't want to get stuck in a classroom on an awesome day like this. He decides to play hookey and enjoy the beautiful weather.

River City High hasn't had a great day since two high school punks, calling themselves the Dragon Twins; transferred into the school's enrollment. The day after their arrival, the school's very core conduct went haywire. There were fights in the hallway, threats, vandalism; teachers living in fear. Finally, while Alex was looking for video games in the mall, the Dragon Twins completely took hold of the school's head curriculum and the school fell to its knees. The teachers and students were locked in the classrooms while high school gangs were released into the streets of River City and Cross Town. No one could get out, and River City High's new entrance guard, Ivan Popov, ensured no one got in or out.

Meanwhile in Cross Town High, 17-year-old senior Ryan walked out of his morning class, laughing with his buddy, Rick. Ryan strolled to his locker and turned the combination, pulling it open. A note began floating toward the ground and he snatched it out of the air. Thinking it was from a girl, he eagerly read.

"I hold your city captive and Ryan's girlfriend hostage. With my hordes of gangs and vicious bosses, no one can stop me now. Meet my demands - or else! P.S. Alex and Ryan, if you interfere, you'll be in for the fight of your lives!

Ryan charged through swarms of kids and past some angry teachers, leaving the
note on the floor. He burst through the door and continued running. When he rounded the campus's outer walls, he bumped into the only person as powerful as him and the only one who could help him rescue his girlfriend.

Together, Ryan and Alex defeated the incredibly tough Dragon Twins and rescued Cyndi from the classroom they were guarding. Then they ascended to the roof and easily beat up beat up Slick. Before he retreated, Slick vowed: "This isn't over; you can count on it!...Oh, and Titus is bad news. Count on that, too."

The two brawlers put Slick's warning into the back of their minds and saved everyone from the locked classrooms. Alex and Ryan pardoned the gangs, dismissing that they were probably forced, and they went on to become...honor students?! I guess Ryan and Alex bonked them across the head enough times to trigger a connection in their brains.

Peace was restored to River City. Slick disappeared, and he was almost forgotten by the people. Ryan returned to Cross Town with Cyndi. All seemed back to normal...but would it last? The new student body president would change River City once more...

Titus was a rich boy who attended River City High as a senior. He was always looked down upon by his father, the president of an important company; who dubbed him as a hopeless failure. Titus always hid his shame by acting mysterious and fleeting, known for flipping his bangs up after a few sentences. No one saw the pain in his heart; the burning desire to show his father, once in for all, that he truly wasn't a failure after all.

It is now January 1990. The students are back to school after an exhilarating Christmas break, one full of unseasonably hot and sunny weather. None wore coats as they filed into the school.
It was election day in River City High. Alex had to step down as student body president - unless he was elected for another term - and give the traditional white shirt to the new president to wear. All the students were jammed into the auditorium as the candidates lined up on the stage. Then the principal strode into the middle of the stage, greeted the crowd, and began a lecture about the school's history and the importance of the student body president. After a lengthy speech that put more than one student to sleep, he opened an envelope. He read the enclosed paper silently, and then glanced up towards the mass of students.

"This year our student body president has been elected by a vast majority, something uncommon in our school's history. The new student body president of River City High, elected over his peers with six hundred and forty votes, is Titus."

Not one sound rose from the array of the students - except for the snoring ones - as Titus strolled across the stage with a wide, triumphant grin. After Titus was handed the white shirt by a suspicious Alex, the kids began to ominously whisper to each other. They quieted down when Titus was given the microphone.

"Good morning, fellow students." He began to slowly pace across the stage, scanning the mess of blank faces in front of him. "I am honored and guilty to receive this role...I am sure that more than one could better handle a student body than I could." He paused to flip his bangs upward. "As president of it now, I will do my best to make sure every student is taken into consideration and the hallways are kept in order." A faint applause followed the proclamation.

Titus then went on to describe how the hallways would be monitored and what changes would be made to the school. His only money-depleting decree was that a game room was to be added for students who were nominated by teachers or their peers, and a loud applause ensued after he promised to pay for it himself. When he was finished, the students offered a friendly round of recognition.

All seemed well for River City High...but when Titus's father refused to think that he amounted to anything more by becoming student body president, Titus hatched a scheme to prove his worth to his father once and for all...

Personality: Easy going and humble

Physical Description: A tall Itallien boy with long black hair that seems pretty moppy and it covers his eyes somewhat.About 5 ft 8 in tall, heavily muscular and looks like he can punch out a buffalo. He usually dresses in an attire that mainly consists of a black overcoat, a red shirt, and black pants. (Picture Jotaro Kujo a little but without the cap). He walks with an odd stagger, tripping over nothing every now and then. His eyes carry a look of the weight of the whole world on his shoulders but they are happy it is on him and not someone else.

Battle Info: Ace is a master at the brawling style of Boxing. He mostly specializes in taking out his opponent then worrying about his own health or stamina. This proves to be a huge fault in his fighting ability as well as his lack of speed. Nevertheless he is still able to hold his own in a fight. The greatest technique in his arsenal: The Ghost punch is a somewhat of a remake of Muhammad Ali's famous Phantom punch, it is so powerful it can leave a hole in a brick wall.

Back Story: Born in Italy, Ace spent most of his life working hard with no education. He was smithing various silverware when he was only 9 years old. Finally his father got tired of Italy and took his family to America in search of opportunity. His mother who was pregnate with a baby girl at the time had to give birth during the voyage. Both she and the girl did not make it. Ace's father became stricken with grief and spent most of his time on business when they had moved to America. Naturally, due to all of the investments, business secrets, and work. Ace's family finally struck it rich. Ace at the time was only 14, and he quickly grew weary of the wealthy lifestyle and realized he missed the simplicity of the poor life. Later on he ran away from home hoping to revert back to the peaceful lifestyle that he had once endured. To make money and support himself in school he began to be a janitor at a local boxing gym. He instantly fell in love with the fighting style when he first laid eyes on it. He spent his after hours practicing some of the moves he had seen and in no time he became a champion. The boy decided to try his hand at a tournament and landed in second place. But in the long run he ended up earning himself an instructor's position at the boxing gym. Soon he gained enough money to support himself in school and began to attend Ocean Front City high. There he saw a couple of gang members picking on a local geek and stood up for him. The act gained him familiarity around the school as "the big guy who fights for lil guys". Despite having no formal education before hand, he still is able to hold himself up in school grades wise.

Personality: Dylan is outgoing and slightly queer. He tends not to take things seriously, unless it's something truly important or when he's in a fight. Although outgoing he's extremely modest, not admitting himself to have achieved something even if everyone has seen it happen. When meeting someone new he 'tests' them; using social codes and certain conversations to examine their personality. He refuses to break school rules, even if it costs him his reputation with his peers - except for fighting, of course, but he never throws a punch unless he or someone undeserving has been attacked.

Physical Description: Dylan stands 5' 5" and weighs 105 pounds. He's thin, but wiry, sporting a fair amount of muscle. His hair is yellow and parts in the center, hanging down past his eyes. In the back it is grown out and stops at the base of his neck. His eyes are a bright and deep blue; and although they are still filled with youth, they are darkened with an intelligent air. His skin is flawless aside from a scar on his forehead, and is a pale and bright orange/peach color. He wears a black muscle shirt with a hood attached bearing the same color. On top of it he wears a green short sleeved sweatshirt with gray stripes on the sleeves, and the hood of the undershirt is cropped out. On his legs are baggy, dark denim jeans. His feet are unusually large and on them are black sneakers embroidered with blue designs. He wears dark gray-and-red fingerless gloves.

Battle Info: Two years ago, Dylan began as a pretty horrible fighter; totally inexperienced. After much training and learning, he has become a very promising martial artist. He melded quite a few types together, some of them including Judo, Kung Fu, and Ju Jitsu; and has created his own unique style revolving around agility, endurance, and strategy. Dylan is a star gymnast, and uses some of his techniques from gymnastics to fight. His wildcard is an attack in which he jumps onto the opponent's head and hops off, vaulting off of the foe's back and flipping into another enemy.

Back Story: Dylan was born in Mountain City on May 4, 1976. His brother is Nathan who was born two years before in autumn. For unknown reasons, Dylan's parents abandoned them when he was three. The Union City Orphanage took them in not too long after. Quite a financial orphanage, it afforded to send Dylan and Nathan to public schools. They were sent to the closest area, which was the Union Schools.

Ever since Dylan began second grade, it became apparent he was a total child genius. He rocketed over the other children with unwavering straight A's and a clean conduct record. When Dylan and Nathan were given the option of Dylan skipping third grade, neither saw any downside to the idea. Dylan went straight to fourth grade and continued to excel at everything he did.

In sixth grade Dylan got in his first fight with the school's meanest bully, an eighth grader nicknamed "Moose". Having never fought before, Dylan lost quickly and was badly bruised. His brother, having experienced many fights before, taught Dylan how to defend himself and how to become stronger. The next time Moose tried to punch him around, Dylan bashed in his pride with a solid win and became the middle school hero.

Dylan was satisfied with Titus as the four schools' student body president when he heard his expository speech - though he was jealous of River City High getting a game room. However, he soon learned of suspicious happenings - kids disappearing, vandalism, and more fights in all of the schools. Not only were there kids disappearing, but new faces were popping up everywhere in the classrooms. Dylan has grown uneasy, and has decided to find out what's causing all of this.

Dylan shut his locker and combed his way through the ocean of bodies to the exit. Upon opening the door, he was besieged by two big seniors he recognized seeing in the hallways a few times, surrounded by girls.

"Hey wimp, better have some money or we'll make a coin out of your face!"

Dylan sighed. Moving swiftly, he ducked and sprang up, pounding the punk upside the chin with his left foot. The other guy tried to tackle Dylan after he landed, but he was too fast. Dylan grabbed the thug as he was charging and used the force of his motion to backflip through the air. As he was 75% through his rotation, he hurled the guy into the school's outer wall.

Dylan began to walk away as if nothing had happened, but then he thought of something and turned his head.

"Spend that."

Naro happened to be in the area at the time, He looked at the thugs and back up at the door closing behind Dylan.

Naro ran to the door to open it, so he can catch up with Dylan.
"Hey dude, I happened to notice how calm you were during the fight, you take martial arts right?"
Naro asked,"I Naro Komashi" he said holding his hand out for a hand shake.

Ace just enters the hallway somewhat confused at how the entire education system worked. Being the new guy was never easy for him. He stumbles over a bucket that the janitor must've left out and rolls down a flight of stairs into the hallway where two other students were shaking hands. The boy gets up quickly and dusts himself off. "Ow, why do people in this school seem so lax? I'll never know."

Dylan blinked. "Because they don't care."

"Ha, That was some fight, I'm surprised no teacher broke it up. Kinda strange, ya know?"
Naro seemed in a good mood. "So who might you be?" He turned towards the boy who fell down the stairs.

Phoenix had been watching the fight from a safe point and the trio that now stood near her. Phoenix started to walk towards the group her long black hair trailed behind her.

Phoenix shoved herself into Dylan, making him fall onto the ground.

With a quick roll Dylan was back on his feet. "Now, was that really necessary?"

"My name is Ace, Ace Goldmills. Just transferred here not too long ago, I can't figure which way to go." He stands up rubbing his legs then picks up his backpack. The burly student notices Phoenix 'pretend to fall' on Dylan. His eyes narrow for a moment but go back to normal.

Naro thought to himself. "*cricket sounds*"
"God I'm thirsty. I'll guess...I'll see you all tomorrow."
He said, as he went to the water fountain.

Dylan ignored Phoenix and resumed his departure, nodding a farewell to Ace and Naro.

Naro Had nothing else to do so he walked to the bus stop waiting ting till it arrived.
"Well, tomorrow will be better." He thought to himself.

Ace smiles himself, it's been a long while since he able to talk to some people. Most of the time he was treated as an outcast and often wondered why. "I still have to clean the gym when I get back. Oh man..."

Dylan entered the Capital Avenue Bridge area, where he was confronted by the gang calling themselves the Generic Dudes.

"This is our turf!" Phil cried as he charged at Dylan. Dylan clotheslined him by outstretching an arm. He then spun around and back kicked Pete, sending him flying backward and losing his lunch afterward. Next he flung his fist behind him to pummel Roy who was trying to sneak up on him, and grabbed Jacob and slammed him into Bob, who was behind him. Stepping over the twitching bodies, Dylan made his way to the Waterfront Mall. After stepping inside, he strolled over to Merv's and opened the door.

He walked to the counter and ordered some Merv Fries, a Merv Burger, and a medium Dr. Pepper. He walked along the tables with his meal and scanned the jammed tables. Finally finding an empty table, we walked over and sat down.

Ace has just gotten away from his cleaning duties at the gym to go for a stroll around the mall. He sights Dylan sitting quietly at a table. "May I join you?"

Guess I'll join them too... Naro thought to himself. He sat at the table with ace and Dylan. "Dude? have you ever lost a fight?" Naro asked Dylan. He looked over at Ace and did that little 'What's up thingie' with head. "Sup man..." he said to Ace.
