Whatever, when I was little I would always watch Lassie, and I own a Shetland Sheepdog, which are basically miniature collies and one of the most intelligent types of dogs. She's the only one in my house that I never get mad at, and she follows me around everywhere and gets extremely depressed when I'm not home (which is about 90 percent of the time unfortunately)

1. They use their quills for self defense so they would have no need to be fast.

2. They're probably rather slow animals in comparison to others considering how small of a size they average, which is most likely coupled with an average running speed.

Anyhoo, I've have been often compared to a turtle, which just so happens to be my favorite animal. I'm slow, shy, defensive, and, using the observation from an over-imaginative step sister, I often "hide in my shell", paying no attention to anything or anyone while concentrating more on a task I'm working on, etc.
