Chapter 1 - Lost

Climbing up the ladder she reached for an old dusty torn book, she opened it scanning quickly through it. She gasped…

She can’t remember anything except… her waking up on the castle floor; she can’t remember how she got into the castle or why she’s living there. She can’t remember what happened. All she knows is… this castle is haunted. Someone is following her. Running through the damp smelling tunnel, hearing her footsteps echo, was already enough for her… but being chased was the worst bit of it and now this book!

She turned around to walk out of the room. Suddenly an ear piercing scream broke the silence, the scream faded away and it was silent again. Something was not right. She looked around at her surroundings. No change at all. “Strange…”she muttered under her breath, and stepped out into the tunnel. Walking through the long, seemingly unending tunnel; looking around at her surroundings from time to time. “Something IS different!” she thought. As she turned her head towards the right wall, she screamed.

There was writing on the stone grey walls, writing in blood. Right next to the writing… pinned onto the wall with a knife was a girl. Blood was trickling down her face. The writing read, “I know you can see me, I know you can hear me. Stop trying to hide from me… because you can’t.” Suddenly a strong gust of wind howled through the tunnel.

She ran out of the tunnel. Shaking like a leaf, she went up the stone steps of the castle. Looking out into the horizon; she could tell the sun had set for the skies were a dull dark blue and the moon was a lantern in the night, showing its way to tired or lost travellers, not only lighting up the sky but lighting up the world below.

Suddenly an ice cold hand touched her shoulder, she jumped. Turning around she saw an echidna about the same age as her, he had hazel brown hair and sea green eyes they looked as if they were glowing in the night.
