The title says it all. Just tell about your own celebrity encounters or if you knew someone who is a friend or relative of someone famous.
I played little league baseball with Robert Downy Jr.'s son and I had a girl in my class last year who said she is the great great niece of Jesse James

For those who dont know who Jesse James is.

I know someone that everyone in the Halo community knows, Frank O'Connor. Otherwise known as Frankie. Yeah, he left Bungie to go work with Microsoft on future Halo games, to make sure they didn't fuck it up.

So you guys don't know anyone famous. That's like me saying I shook hands with Mika and his family, got the black guy from Blue's autograph, and met some Celtic footballer that I can't even remember the name of.
Which I've done.
You don't personally -know- any of them.
Nice try.

I've met Jack and Victor (aka Ford Kiernan and Greg Hempill) from Still Game/Chewin the Fat. Two amazing british actors.
They were airing in the town next to mine, and I met them and got thier autographs when I was 15.

I got an autograph and spoke to John Rhys-Davies (the guy who plays Gimli in Lord of the Rings.)
He said I was smart for being female and liking his character the most, instead of swooning over Orlando. =P
That's about it, but it was fun. <D

You know a man from Halo.
I'm so thoroughly, completely, and utterly envious that the rest of the world could care less about.
Really, I am. Look at my envious face.

See that? That's how envious I am of you.

He's easily the best character in the movie. He's ginger and has an epic beard, 'nuff said.

No, you assume that I only know him over Halo. I moved to Seattle, I talk to him, you know, in person, every day. Again, don't assume things.

This isn't assuming. This is fact. You're missing my point entirely.
Nobody cares because he's not a celebrity. He's not famous to anyone but Halofags, so he's not famous.

Sorry, last time I checked, Halo has a fan base of over 100 million people in the United States alone.
"A celebrity is a widely-recognized or famous person who commands a high degree of public and media attention."
He's widely known, and commands a high defree of public and media attention in the gaming industry. Therefore, making him famous.
Get your facts straight, just because YOU don't know him, doesn't mean he isn't widely known. You're not everybody, you are one person in the billions that live on Earth.
Jackass.

do I know someone famous? Yeah, many people... I hear them on the propaganda channel (called news) a lot, you know, cameras following them everywhere? We get notified everytime they blow their nose.
have I met them? That's another question and the answer is no.
nuff said.

Hahaha. That would be pretty clever if it made any sense. You know of people upon hearing about them on the news, true, but actually knowing a person requires the whole "getting to know you" shtick. Having met someone isn't the same as knowing someone - I've met millions of people in my lifetime. I really only know a few hundred.
Robb Nash and Burton Cummings are both canadian musicians, but they're not famous to anyone but Canadians so they're not famous.
your logic confuses and astounds, really it does.

My dad knew Tommy Burn throughout the 90s, when I was a wee lad.
He was a Scottish football legend, and he died last month. Last time I actually saw him in person was about 2002.
Other than that, I've met several Scottish actors (Isa from Still Game used to be my drama teacher), aswell as some people who have been associated with Celtic FC. But know, I dont really know anyone "famous".
