Out of all of the game systems that came out before the year 2000, which one is your favorite?
I'd have to nominate the Sega Genesis. It's either that, or Dreamcast, or The Original NES. Sega's history could probably do without the Saturn.

Dreamcast. It was undeniably THE greatest system before the PS2.

Mhm... and the Dreamcast has Sonic Adventure 1, Sonic Adventure 2, Resident Evil : Code Veronica, Soul Calibur, Jet Grind Radio, Crazy Taxi, Marvel Vs. Capcom 1 & 2, MK : Gold, Shenmue, Dead Or Alive 2, Skies of Arcadia, Samba De Amigo, and of course - Phantasy Star Online.

N64 but I've never really played the SDC so that makes me a bit biased. Still, loved the N64, Super Mario and Zelda were a riot.

I;m gonna have to go with the N64. You've got games like Goldeneye, Mario 64, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart, etc. I could go on and on. I had so much fun with the 64 back in the day.

Nintendo 64, it holds some of my favourite games of all time. <3

True, and I agree. But once again, I have to point out that the dreamcast simply featured a wider library of both overall games and memorable games. Like, who could ever forget Phantasy Star Online, or Crazy Taxi? And Code Veronica is considered by myself to be the best game on the Dreamcast overall, let alone the best Resident Evil game. Got a thing for sad endings :D
And Soul Calibur, PSO, Crazy Taxi, Samba De amigo, Dead or Alive and MANY other series are very popular series, with Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive still going on and being the most popular ones of the bunch. And the Dreamcast started all of those.
I really don't see the N64 starting any classic or still ongoing series...
Now don't get me wrong, I am NOT a Nintendo hater or Sega Fanboy. I LOVE both of them, but I just think the Dreamcast was the best of it's time. It left PS1 and Nintendo 64 in the dust. Hell, if it had a DVD player, it might have stood up a better fight against PS2 (in the market at least. I think if you take the DVD out of PS2, the dreamcast can own it, though the PS2 at this point does have a wide library of games, but if the DC would've stood up it would've lasted longer, if it wouldn't be still selling, then it would have a bigger games library to match up against PS2 as well).

I lol'd at this. Everyone's accepted Resident Evil 4 as the best one. Code Veronica was weakened dramatically by it's voice acting and general lack of tension. You never felt on edge.
Gotta agree with most of the people in here though, N64 the whole way. Banjo Kazooie, Goldeneye, Smash Brothers, any of THQ's wrestling games, the N64 even managed Resident Evil 2, FMV sequences and all. It also had ShadowMan.
Mmmm, ShadowMan. <333

Thanks to that last line... I am now scared.
Anyways, ok. the N64 is also great, just thought I'd express my opinion.
Also I edited the Code Veronica part to be more of your acceptance. But there are still quite a few people who favor it. I happen to know a few. But I guess it's not really a majority or anything. Just ignore that part, then.

Code Veronica was the shit.
People who jumped on the bandwagon for 4 and started claiming to be fans are just idiots. "Hurr durr shootans" was fun, but not Resi.

I know. The story had balls, the Graphics were KICK-ASS and the gameplay... My god... whoever programmed that game deserve a Billion dollars and infinite girlfriends.

The Dream Cast was good, but when you compare how it was better to Nintendo 64 you should also take into mind that N64 had been out on the market for quite a few years before Dream Cast got released.
I've played just a few games to Dream Cast and they were really fun, Jet Set Radio being one of my favourite games.
But Play Station 2, Nintendo 64 and Dream Cast should not be put in the same category, because Play Station 2 just kick's the butts of N64 and DC.
Comparing PS2 and DC doesn't work, cause DC never stood a chance. Against the Play Station, fair enough, but not the Play Station 2.
Nintendo 64 may not of started a load of now populare game series, but it continued just as many STILL populare game series' as the Dream Cast created, which is more of a credit, if you ask me.
Dream Cast was fun and I really like the Sonic Adventure games, but I'll never forget that the Dream Cast as the start to SEGA's fall.
Oh yeah, and I grew up with Nintendo 64, so I have a lot of fond memories from it. =P

N64
I loved N64 because it became the transition from 2D games from SNES (except Starfox, Doom, and maybe a few others I have never heard of) to the mainframe of 3D consoles. Games such as Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers, and LoZ: Oot became epic legends because of N64. Oh, I forgot Perfect Dark and Paper Mario too!
Not trying to sound bias, I would say stuff about Sega's systems as well, but I never owned any of them. I was a Pokemon fan back then, so it was all Nintendo up until 2002.

Based on the nature of what you just said, and HOW you said it, I don't think you're gay... I think you're just an idiot.
And Yeah, N64 is good.

Based on the nature of what you just said, and how you said it, I conclude that you don't know what sarcasm is.
And that's a change of tune, any special reason why? =P

Needs more Streets of motherfucking RAGE.
The remake that Bombergames did was good. <3 But they need to stop re-release it on XBL, and actually make a NEW side-scroller.
That'd be nice. Yep.

Not so much Spyro (although I still played Spyro games), but Crash Bandicoot definately!
Needs more Streets of motherfucking RAGE.
Streets of Rage was brilliant! I used to play 2 player with my older brother all of the time when he had a Mega Drive.

Its a very close tie between the Dreamcast and the Playstation.
The PS1 was the very first console I ever owned (though I also own older ones now) and I always loved Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Tomba, and all the other bajillion PS1 games I have.
While I don't own very many DC games (most of them are broken or lost now), it was the most fun of any console I ever had. Sonic Adventure is one of my favorite games of all time and so is Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future.

Gotta say that I loved my good old Sega mega Drive! And I used to play PS1 with my cousin and I loved that console too :) I didn't get to play SNES so much, but i enjoyed it when I had the time. I can say the same thing about N64.
But I have to nominate Sega Mega Drive and PS1 :)
