Yeah, discuss the most anticipated console title of 2008 here. ;D

I only have about 19 missions left, and that one where you have to rob a bank was fucking intense. What about you guys, how far have you gotten, what's your favorite mission so far?

Also, there's a rumor going around about a San Andreas based DLC for the 360 edition of the game, which I'm split in half about, since SA doesn't even meet the scale of Liberty City in GTA IV, so in order for me to enjoy it more, they would have to make everything a lot bigger.

My room mate has played quite a bit of it and I've been riding shotgun through the entire thing XD

He's mostly into the races now, but its been a great time.

That mission was so good it made me download Heat. God I fucking love Rockstar.

I'm up to mission 75 I think, With about 20 hours in hand to get the under 30 hours achievement. I really didn't think this game would live up to the hype (see Halo 3) but jesus fucking christ on a bike it's just truly AWESOME. Everything fits together so tightly and nicely, no more fucking annoying gun fights, proper vehicle handling, proper animations, it's just truly awesome. Rockstar have set the benchmark for gaming yet again, and it's fucking high.

Eh.

I went off to play PSU after two days of it, and I'm probably not gonna finish it. Mediocrity. They took a winning formula, then added realism. What's the point?

I don't want to have to spend every free minute calling up some faggot and taking them out to keep them happy. I want to be chased by the fucking army. Not SWAT vans that can't stop me if I go outside of a circle.

Ruined the franchise and pushed it a step back. Ripped off K&L as well. Genius.

I just ignore all the taking out and crap, I could care less which of the characters like me or not. I'll care about that after I beat the game, and then go back and take them out to get fucking wasted.

Speaking of being wasted, driving is insane while drunk. Especially with the heavier vehicles, like the truck and SUV's, it's fun as hell to escape from the cops while drunk driving.

Also, I'm now two missions away from beating the game. The one where you either help or kill that guy who tried to kill Roman (mind's blank right now), and then the ending mission with the helicopter chase.

You know, when somebody calls you, all you have to do is call them back and cancel instead of saying no and you won't get anything negative for it. Personally, I liked Stevie's car theft missions the best. Its grand theft auto in...well, you get the idea >>

I still say the bank robbery one was the best. It's so intense, I swear, I almost cried when I died the first time because I was so close to finishing it.

I have never played the game myself, but I've got no bad reviews so far. GI gave the game a 10/10 which is quite rare based on their standards.

It's like a graphical upgrade of Vice City. They had so much shit that they already programmed in San Andreas that they didn't use (like weight lifting effecting your appearance and such) and so many weapons that they left out that it really left me feeling as if it could have been better.

Of course, I haven't owned a GTA game since GTA III.

Anyone else stop reading after that?

And while many people may complain that San Andreas had more and all this shit it doesnt matter. Surely what a game HAS is what it should be marked by, so by that system GTA IV is no less than perfect. I love it.

It's dull.

They took the GTA formula, and added "OH GOD REAL LIFE INSTANCES" to it. Now it's nothing more than a glorified Sims game.

Fair enough if you're into simulating getting drunk, then going to a diner at 2am to grab a burger and getting harassed by the staff, instead of doing it for real.

The multiplayer missions are good. Bomb da Base II is always interesting to play, since you can usually find a new route every time you play it. But the other game modes are just... eh. Car Jack City is possibly the most poorly executed of the lot. The Deathmatch modes are boring, Mafiya Work is fair, but repetitive, and Free Mode... well, Free Mode is fun, as long as you're playing with your friends.

Jumping into a game, and having a bunch of thirteen year olds going apeshit over a two star rating, isn't exactly an enjoyable experience.

But Story Mode, can get fucked. The missions consist of "take me here, we get something, deal goes bad, kill everybody, drive outside of circle, take me home jeeves." No. Just no.

Where's the outrageous "Oh shit I've lost an arm drive me to a junkyard so I can use the gunpowder method to fix it" or "You're going to steal a fucking jetpack, get to it" missions of old? GTA was about doing things you'd never be able to do in real life.

Not logging onto the net to check if BigBalledBrian e-mailed you back.

Game can get fucked, until they bring out the DLC. Hopefully they'll have San Andreas, WITH the airstrip being functional. Please God, let it be functional.

That's one thing I wish they kept, being able to actually fly fucking planes. :\

Well ever since 9/11 and all Rockstar is already in deep shit for the whole Hot Coffee stuff. So I think it is pretty smart of them to keep planes out. For their own safety, you know.

Only because the only Americans not willing to leave 9/11 in the past are flag-waving Alabamian "patriots". Fuck em. Rockstar can re-enact all of 9/11 in the next GTA for all I care, as long as it makes for a good game.

You know, when someone calls you and you ignore it, their like/respect for you doesnt decrease.

Anyways, fucking epic game. I was unable to play it for about a week due to the fact my 360 fucked up, but god, it's fucking brilliant. I beat it a few days ago, with just 4 minutes to spare for that "Liberty City Minute" achievement.

I could go on to praise the game, but I cant be bothered right now. You know it's a great game, so you dont need me saying what's good about it.

9/11 is re-enacted every day I can be bothered to play it.

Me, chopper, statue of happiness. Repeat until bored.

Ten minutes, I'm done. Back to Gears.

Eh. I guess I could see why they got rid of planes, not only would Jack Thompson be on their asses, which in itself is a reason for mass suicide at Rockstar, but all the sick twisted and demented people out there would take it as "Rockstar liked 9/11? Ohmygod, devils!" :\

I rented it, since my mum's company is laying off people right now and she wants to make sure that if she gets laid off she has enough money for us to survive until she got a new job, so I was sad to see that it was gone this morning when I came back from my step-fathers. Guess I won't get to finish it for a few weeks.

Yeah, New York + Planes = Hot Coffee all over again.... 'Cept without the fact that you need to hack.

Jack Thompson wrote a letter to the guy who created the concept for GTA's mother.

I don't think 9/11 would've been as much of an issue.
