Metal Gear Solid 4

For those of us who have played games such as Tomb Raider, Hitman and other stealth-based action game we all know that they wouldn't be what they are today without the influence of one of the best gaming series, Metal Gear Solid. I for one, think that MGS had a huge one on the gaming industry. The puzzles, tricks and story had me in a choke hold since I first started Metal Gear. Well as of late I've learned that the MGS series is coming to a close with MGS4 on the horizon due for release in late June.

I was somewhat skeptical at the game had in store and thought Hideo Kojima lost his mind. This time, the player had to take roll of an aged Solid Snake. I laughed when I imagined an old man with an AK sneaking around killing people with a cigarette in his mouth. But then again I thought the same way before I saw Rocky Balboa. So, like everyother gamer, I reserved it eager to see what it had in store for me. *Yay*


Do you think the game is a must or bust?

Saw a video for it in my local Eclipse last night, and... well...

Remember that old trick you could do on MGS2, wherein if you grabbed an unconscious enemy by his legs, and thrusted against a wall, it looked like Snake/Raiden was shagging him? Yeah, well, they took that, and made it worse. Anyone who's seen the new method of "choking" an enemy will know EXACTLY what I mean.

Always been a big fan of the MGS series for its story but now this has to end, due to Konami being frigid cunts and only releasing it on PS3. I hope its a flunk.

Lawl, it does look like he's shagging him. From what I've read Kojima is now directing it with a co-director. He initially planned to step down but death threats were sent to him forcing him to come back.

Hey! Don't dis the PS3. It owns 360. The only reason Konami didn't do other consoles is because the 360 hasn't the POWER to do it, without halving the game. And we DON'T WANT HALF OF MGS4!

Metal Gear Solid 4 had to boost it's popularity by creating a video where Snake dressed up as that faggot from Assassin's Creed.

Hype. Look what happened to Brawl. And Halo 3.

Sure, Brawl was fantastic, but the hype was SO high that it just couldnt live up to it. Halo.. was never really that good anyway.

PS-Tripul fans expect it to be a saviour, but it'll just be the same thing. Stealthan, with LOADS of cut-scenes. It'll probably be good, and I plan on buying it, but it certainly wont live up to the hype. Mark my words.

90 min cutscenes and a 4.6 gig install.

I'm buying a PS3 for this? Fuck, all I want is the story, why not just take out the gameplay and just make it a DVD? That's all I really want.

The only reason I'm buying a PS3 is for MGS4 and the next Kingdom Hearts game. I wish I didn't like video games so much, because spending $600+ for two games is outrageous.

You have my respect TC. Well, the game is coming out tomorrow. I am trying to stifle myself with great effort, and I've been looking at a lot of trailers. I found one particularly interesting portraying a young Solid Snake running around on the first stage.

There's been a lot of speculation. But I'd like to point out something interesting, if you look closely and pause it on 5:42 you can see some white hair sticking out from the mask that guy (or soldier) is wearing. I have arrived at 3 conclusions of this.

1)Kojima is screwing with us.

2) That actually might be Johnny Sasaki with a mask of Snake

3) You can obtain a young Snake mask within the game with Old Snake.

I agree the PS3 does own the 360 the Wii does too.

My friend brought it over a few weeks ago, I love the the cut scenes, the gameplay, how octacon screams "snake? snake?!" still, and the graphics, the detail on everything how you can see each stich on the men's suits. From what I've seen I think it's amazing and I am going to get it for sure.
