Well, the homebrewers (the same ones that created Megamix, the best Sonic 1 mod out there) have decided to give Sonic 2 the HD treatment.

That's right, no angsty rock, no Shadow, no Cream, no "Eggman" (it will be Robotnik), none of that this time. It will be the best thing to happen to Sonic since Sonic and Knuckles.

I wish you'd just read the forums, they said they were debating whether to keep the smile or not. They're trying to mimic the sprites as closely as possible, they're literally using the same drawings that were used to paint the original sprites.

Forums = effort I'm not prepared to waste. Hence why I barely post here.

And you don't get the same feeling from a drawing. The sprites were standard, sharp, and straight forward. You can't improve on something that was perfect in the first place.

The highlight on his eye and the smiles need to go. Tails looks like ass as well, since he just looks fat instead of fuzzy.

Stop mimicing and leave the fucker alone. It's better the way it is instead of tearing it apart to fuck it over. =/

I don't see why making a vectored-over remake is so bad. Sega's too lame to do it, and if they find out they'll sue the crap out of these guys, steal the idea, and make a much shittier version. And it's better to recognize the original rather than just leave it and forget about it, I have no problem with this.
