Sonic Rivals 2/Sonic 3 Question...

I heard this game is better than the first but i beg to differ due to the repetitiveness of the last 1 and the requirements to get the 7 chaos emeralds(I couldnt get any, boss lvls hold me back...and i keep getting stuck in the beginning of the circus course act 2)

So is it better?

Also in sonic 3, the circus course act 2(again) has a part where you boxed in and the only way down is blocked by a cylinder that moves up and down when you jump on it. HOW THE HELL DO I GET PAST THAT!? Died in that course from time up like 15 different times ARRRGH!!

2. You press the up and down directionals to move the carnival thing up and down.

14 years later and people STILL dont know how to do that. And I honestly cant blame most of them. It took me at least a year to figure out how to do that, though I managed to pass it a couple of times by sheer luck.

I mean, in the mid-90s, NO ONE knew how to do that ...... except Patrick Moore, of course.
